The answer is yes and yes. He will be replaced because history always throws up somebody who beats the old icons and yes Michael got away with much worst. As a disclosue I did meet him with his then fiance flying from Nice to London after the Monte Carlo race the year before he became world champion. I found him humble, charming and gracious but as time progressed I fear that just like most highly competitive people winning became all. Michael was no saint just an a very talented and competitive driver. Let him be remembered for that alone and the pleasure he gave in between the 'slips' such as in Adelaide!
