    Can Schumacher ever be replaced?

Of course not. He was the greatest and only Fangio can really compare to him. The 5-time World Champion was 39 when he took his first title and 46 when he took the last one.

Schumacher retired at the age of 37. When the first Formula 1 World Season got underway in 1950, Fangio was already 38 years old.

However, I'm sure Schumacher would gracefully be able to replace Jean Todt as the manager of Scuderia Ferrari. If that happens in a few years and he has Fernando Alonso racing on his team, be prepared.
