    • i do not blame rick parry for him not coming to anfield i blame real madrid they wanted the 16 million not anything less and liverpool could not match that

    • You are a knob. Do you think he wanted to go to Newcastle? The only thing you can blame him for is losing his nerve coz the transfer window was closing. When he is back next year you'll have the posters back on the wall i bet.

    • I think everyone ıs missing the point who has rafa bought apart from alonso, reina and sıssoko.Rafa claims we need crosses the chilean we were going to get cant get a work permit,Zenden to my mind is another smicer he was good at M`boro because he played behind the front 2 not as a winger. That brings me to morientez its plaın to c he is to slow but i think he will figure more in the cham L.As for L Garcia for every 10 times he trıes to go past players he might get by once. That brıngs me to Peter Crouch 7,5 million i thınk he(Rafa) was off his head i think Jan koller would have been a better buy at half the price. As for Owen well we as Liverpool fans have to ask our selves y Newcastle have just spent a total of 27 million pounds on just 2 strikers and are not in europe it come,s down to money we hav not got it ıts about time Liverpool as a club realise if we want to hang with the big boys we need big money i am not talking Roman A kind of money but at least enough to keep up wıth the lıkes of Newcatle,M`Boro and So on.So the best buy Liverpool need is investors then Rafa can get the real players while Newcastle bought Owen and Luquea we got a man utd reject and a 17 year old austrian winger hopefully this proves my point would Rafa really buy these token players if he had the MONEY?

    • i love owen but he left to win things at midrid and liverpool had to sell him because he did not want to sign a new new contract. now he has gone to newcastle i think he has made wrong decison. he only had himself to blame because nobody asked him to leave liverpool when he left. now midrid dicthed him he wants to come back, no way. rafa made the right decision by not really pursuing to sign him because he preferes cisse instead because he more of a diversity player.

    • look, the man is an as***le, he NEVER, please get this straight!, NEVER CARED ABOUT LIVERPOOL, he only cared about himself!.

i've said this a million times, he wasn't going through a dry spell!, he was just playing badly so that the liverpool board would let go of him easily so that he could move on to a "so called better team"!!! he turned his back on us once and now he's done it twice!

to be honest, i didn't want him back on liverpool because of his first desertion, but i rather have him back that have him scoring against us!!!!

he's just a traitor!!! i hope he gets booed out of the pitch when he plays at anfield cause he deserves nothing less!

    • lets not forget all the things michael owen did while he was with us. lets not forget that benitez and co. could have sealed this deal ages ago but decided to wait till they had three days left! and we still dnt have the winger and centre back! the blame doesnt just lie with owen

      • There is too much Owen bashing going around now that he is not coming back. I think Owen has done his best for Liverpool. I would love to see him back but I have to admit that I was annoyed when he left. But look at what state Liverpool was at that time, and you can't blame a player for going to a big club.
Let's face it, Benitez bears a grudge. Owen's departure signal that he does not have enough faith in him. That is what Benitez remembers.

    • Foolish Owen! I'm sure the Liverpool board may have f**ked up here but at the same time he could've told Freddy Shepherd - the same guy who was busted all those years ago for calling Alan Shearer Mary Poppins and for laughing at Newcastle fans' idiocy at buying overpriced team shirts - to stick it. He could've sat on the Madrid bench until January and waited for Liverpool. Alas, such is modern football - it seems the modern footballer is destined to break the hearts of all real fans. There seems to be no such thing as loyalty. Selfish reasons prevail. Owen should consider himself dishonoured and should do the right thing and immediately commit Seppuku. And Newcastle, I laugh at your puny attempts at becoming a big club. With a joker like Graeme 'Dodgy Ticker' at the helm there is only one way...down! Us Liverpool fans remember his illustrious signings...dynamic midfielder Paul Stewart! Wonder winger Mark Walters! Promising young keeper David James! And who can forget the towering collosus of a defender that is Torben Piechnik! A proto-Boumsong I think...hahaha!

      • Let's get something straight. Modern footballers, whoever they play for, are not 'Fans'. They're businessmen. They sellc their skills to the highest bidder to earn as much as they can during their career, sometimes cruelly short, sometimes longer. Don't forget, these young men are 'employees, working for very rich organisations that, themselves, generate huge amounts of money from attracting paying customers, selling merchandise and generating televison and advertising revenue. I don't blame the players for taking the money, I would too given the chance, but at 58 it's a bit late. Also many people make a fuss of wages but nobody bothers if Elton John or Madonna do a one night concert and get paid a million quid do they? As a former Bank manager who had contact with several Premier players, ex managers of both the Reds and the Blues and a couple of one time International managers (Scotland and N Ireland) I can speak with some authority. No matter how players bleat about how they love the club, supported it as a boy, joined to win things or anything else, their true motivation is their pay packet. Would anyone in their right mind turn down £100,000 per week in exchange for a medal or two. I mean how many can you win in a lifetime? The true parasites. by the way, are agents who inflate prices and wages that eventually are paid by us, Joe Public. So, back to the point. Michael is not a 'true fan' of anybody except himself. Don't forget it.

      • see this topic in more detail at lfcfanzone dot com.

      • But do you agree the fact remaıins apart from Alonso,Reina and Sissoko all the other buy`s have been of G Houllıer kind.Do you honestly feel that if Rafa had the money he would have bought Zenden and these 2 youngsters and wıth 1 of them being a man u reject who no1 else wanted. Answer where are the crosses gong to come from the if i was the opposition i would tell my team to mark gerrard and alonso who else cross go or pass players.

      • I don't think Liverpool would've bought him in January anyway.....
but I'm still heart broken after I just saw that headline. Can't stop saying the word "Ba*****s!!!!!!!"
Why can't Rafa see that Fans absolutely adore (or adored now) him!!!!!!! Everyone else seem to want him apart from the manager himself....!!! Sorry for Owen because of that. Sorry for him because Real Madrid are ba*****s :p. Sorry for him because he has to play for a team he didn't want to play in, and is going to finish at the bottom of the league, big time. Newcastle seem to think that they only need a decent striker to score goals. Well, you also need decent 10 other players as well - correct me if I'm wrong!
You just know Owen is going to be sold by the end of this season again, don't you...?!

      • Carragher is king! Long may he reign! I respect the loyalty of such men as Tony Adams and Paolo Maldini...true heroes. Carragher will join them whereas Owen can go the way of the Anelka. Owen, you are the Littlest Hobo! For the rest of your days you will just keep moving on, trying to help little boys that have fallen down wells. And then when your pace has completely deserted you, you'll be put down.

Again, just to re-emphasise: Newcastle? Hahaha! Even Owen can't save you now...down you go, down with Leeds.
