Now We Need To Be Ruthless

There is no more doubt, no question whatsoever. Its official Liverpool are a good team, no l mean a fantastic team. But just because we are a wonderful team does not mean there is no room for improvement.

What Rafa needs to instil in the team now is that ruthless streak, the hunger to score as many goals as possible. Against Newcastle we could have easily won 10-0, but we spurned so many many chances. Newcastle must have ben dancing with joy on the way back home for having only lost 2-0. Garcia, Crouch, Gerrard and even Morientes could easily have all scored individual hatricks. That is partly one of the reasons we lost the World Club Cup.

That however does not take away the good job the boys are doing. And our defence is just magnificent, we have equalled the club record of 8 consecutive league games without conceding a goal, a record that has been standing since 1923. Only Everton now stand between us beating that record now.

Reds you are the best and Rafa you are the best of the best. Wonder what all the fuss about Owen was all about.

    • With the exception of Morientes, who I still have my doubts despite his recent improvement, I think we have a very good strike force. The reason why our midfields are scoring more goals is because Crouch is doing a superb job up front, drawing away defenders thus allowing space for our attacking midfield to score.

Although it appear we have a solid defense, as the record shows, 8 clean sheets until yesterday conceding 1 goal to Everton, I think we still need to strengthen the rear as we are lacking covers in case Hypia or Car got injured.

With rumoured 15m pounds to spend in Jan, I think we can afford to bring in 1 more striker and 2 defenders.
