Rafa: "referee must be on our side"

Robert, got to ask you about Grants comments to try to counter Rafa's own words. Now he's obviously no Jose M, but at least he's having a go. Actually asking the press to take a closer look at how Carra and others handled Drogba in the first leg, and suggests on closer look, the ref actually was very polite with the Liverpool defenders.

Come on is he having a laugh, or is he seriously suggesting that Carra or others should be carded the next time Drogba goes down?

    • I don't know what Grant has said. All I can see is headlines coming from Benitez serially shooting his mouth off about how Chelsea are cheats, refs are bent, Liverpool is great and will go to the final.

      What did Grant actually say?

      • Robert, I'd suggest you take a look at Sky's website. Both managers interviews are viewable as clips. Not the usual 30 seconds, but about 4 or 5 minutes for both , so you get some context for a change.

I think you'll find while Rafa no doubt has a go at Drogba, its not the flamable version you see in headlines, and his comments about the ref are not an attack, but more a statement of hope that the ref is strong, which he assumes he will be as he has a good track record.
