Is Carra refusing to play RB?

I just think that, with Skrtel playing there on Saturday and now El Jefecito playing there last night....why isn't Carra playing there? Has he moaned to Rafa? Or is it just another case of Rafa's over-analysis of the opposition?

    • There maybe some truth in this, but I'd say this is a result of Rafa's good analysis, rather than so called over analysis. Against Boro I think Rafa rightly decided he need more pace at RB that Carra could provide, so he tried Skrtel, it did not work out, so he pushed Masch into the position. But against Sunderland, the main threat was down the middle. With a single striker, the flanks were never going to be the main threat, so he put his best pairing of center backs on the pitch.

    • The player i'm thinking about is Cafu for AC Milan and its looks likes he still plays. Took me a while but I got there. ;oD

Thanks for the info Bob, I think its probably about time we got him back....theres nothing like being chucked in the deep end to teach you to swim. It would probably be better then playing Masch there in a "free?" defence/midfield role. ;oD

    • I can't believe he would. Rafa is very aware that he asks his full backs to do a lot of running. I think I'm right in that CArra has played more minutes than any other outfield player? Rafa believes in rotation, except for at CB where the athletic demands aren't as high, and in between the sticks. Carragher would only have had to give the slightest indication that he was tired, for Rafa to rule out RB as a position for him.

I believe Masch was a good choice, or Stevie could have played there. Likewise Darby, but isn't he out on loan? I'm not sure.
