  • Milan have offered £20m for the Argentine's services, with a further £20m set aside for his wages over four years.

Apparently, that's who Kia Joorabchian was talking to on the phone during Sunday's Manchester derby.

In my opinion, he is just the type of player we need to replace the ageing Seedorf. He will be a great partner for Pato in front. Although our ageing defence has me most worried.

Do you think Rafa will try and bid? I hope not since we don't have the money to get into a bidding war with English clubs. At least not yet. After Serie A breaks away, it will be a different story. :))

    • I have just been reading the sport news on msn and it reads that his preferred destination (if manure don't want him) is liverpool, he lives in cheshire and his family are settled there, although man city have expressed an interest they can't offer him the chance to play in the european champions league.
Also his friend and Argentine captain plays for Liverpool and hopefully this will persuade him to sign !!

      • I would think Spain would be his prefered destination if MU don't cough up the money, but outside that I think remaining in the EPL and in the North West would be a close second.

Realistically thinking about who can afford him, where he'd want to play, and where he'd want to be based think the following are the most likely:

        Madrid
        Barca
        Man C
        Liverpool
        Milan.

Bear in mind also, while the asking price is 32M, if the mancs decline, the lack of a bidding war might mean the price drops. 25-28M is the most likely price point IMO.
