    Some good news..

    http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/liverpool-doc-gives-the-all-clear-for-reds-trio

Will be good to see Cole 100% and in action tomorrow night, maybe he can lead by example and show enough to force his way into the squad vs Villa.

Great news Gerrard is healing so quickly, can't get him back soon enough.

And, after what could have been a very serious injury, our main man from Denmark, and I don't mean poulsen, is back soon. I'd expect his fitness to take a while, but onces he's ready, perhaps we'll get to see what that Skrtel/Agger partnership some of us have pondered is actually made of, while Carra is on the mend..

    • Yep, you read it right. We can find a centre back who doesn't make me think he is going to give away a penalty everytime an opposition player comes into the box. Now, if he can get back to the player he was in 08-09 then I will be more than glad to retract everything I have said and eat my hat.

    • I can't believe I'm reading this...SELL Skrtel?? You're nuts!

    • Hmm fair enough, centre backs never really reach their prime 'til at least 27 do they so I guess we should give him the benefit of the doubt that he will get back to player he was in 08 and there is no harm in having him in the squad. I do however think that if Agger can stay fit then he should be ahead of Skrtel in the pecking order.

If we got a decent offer for him though, I would take it.

    • Thanks!

Yes, I do have to say a bit. He's still not an old man, 25 I believe so he's certainly got room for improvement and to grow. I don't see any reason why he couldn't, in theory, reach his levels of 2008. Plus another thing to consider is, Daniel Agger, has never gone through a season without injuries that cause him to miss significant action, so I think when he's fit again he's really got to be stellar to earn a starting spot. I can't deny he's the most skilled of the group, but nothing should be given to him, and it's a great problem to have, Carra/Skrtel/Agger competing for 2 places with Wilson, Kelly and if I must... Ayala (not a fan) watching the 3 of them..

Anyhow, good conversation piece, off I go. Enjoy what I'm sure will be another interesting day on the boards as always, and I'll hope to get home to see the Reds through in Europa!

      Cheers boys.

    • Agreed, hope Joe can start to find his feet, however I hope it isnt at the expense of the in form Maxi Rodriguez. I would like to see the pair of them on the flanks and go back to Kuyt and Torres up top.
We've got a little while to go on the Agger front, the physios are saying that a return for boxing day is a possibility! Hopefully he can impress Hodgeson as he wasnt really playing when he was fit but I consider him our most capable defender.

      • We should hope anyone can find their feet, let alone see them based on what I saw from the weather update... -15, ice, snow and sleet? Hopefully they all come away fine.. but yes Cole should hopefully force his way back in at the expense of Ngog to accomodate Kuyt.. Maybe even Jovan can prove to Roy it's worth using 2, let alone 3 subs in a match winning or losing!

I guess Agger's got probably what 5 weeks to go? Still good news, because it originally sounded very bad and I like him alot for what he brings offensively to set pieces, and the occasional long distance shot. Plus he's always yelling and screaming at someone, ala Jamie, so he makes a perfect fill in. I've always been a Skrtel fan, but I think they can really complement each other well this year and in the future..
