With the deadline fast approaching, there is still work being done at Anfield. We have already seen the departures of Soto, Ayala and (thank god) El Zhar this week and speculation is rife of more to happen so I thought I would summarise the fresh stories.
Alberto Aquilani - Has confirmed 'he is close' to joining Milan. The Italian media all suggesting it will be tied up by Thursday. It is a shame but with Stevie and Raul not even in the starting line up, it doesnt seem £85k per week well spent.
Christian Poulsen - Officially told he can leave and is keen himself to find a new club. In both of our interests. FC Copenhagen are fancied.
Joe Cole - A real shame in most peoples eyes, seems silly that QPR are they only team interested. I dont see this deal happening.
Dani Pacheco - Has his choice of over 15 clubs to spend a seasons loan at. Seems his 1st choice are newly promoted Rayo Vallecano for more chance of 1st team football.
David Ngog - Looking very likely to seal a deal to move permantly to Bolton.
Scott Dann/ Gary Cahill/ Sebastian Coates - It seems very likely that one of this trio will be signed with us releasing two centre halves this past week. Cahill is most of our picks but Dann seems the most likely.
Craig Bellamy - Every newspaper seems to be running this story today, I wouldnt be against it but seems unlikely.
Seems from everything out there that Sebastian Coates is an extremely likely possibility. He's 20, 6'5 and won young player of the tournament at Copa America, so he certainly ticks alot of boxes..
I'd like to know what the plan is for another striker, because if Ngog leaves we're very light up front despite him not getting any significant minutes. I've read quite a few Rodallega rumors and would be quite pleased with him... Suarez, Carroll, and Kuyt isn't enough, especially if one goes down god forbid..
Guess we'll see over the next 7 days..

Nothing wrong with wishful thinking, but I quite fancy having a go at Drogba. There have been constant talks of him leaving. I know he is getting on and his weekly wage is not cheap, but he still know where the goal is. Come in for last 30 minutes, he is the type of players who can make a difference! If we get rid of Cole and Ngog, surely that is already a 100k per week saving and can afford Drogba's demand.
Cahill manetioned in too many places already, so enough said.
Another player I wouldn't mind having a go at is SWP. Coming in as a sub, I can see him running down the right after opponents' legs are tired and supplying crosses for Carroll.
