    Fernando Llorente LFC pre contract

A bit of a late twist in the LFC striking department. It seems that we were monitoring Llorente during the summer preparing ourselves to bid should any competition arise. Now he has 1 year left on his contract and he is free to negotiate a bosman move as of January to determine his club for the 13-14 season and we are top of the pile. Surely what will actually happen is that he will move in January on a cut price deal but we wont be alone in his pursuit.

To be honest, I imagine that Madrid, Milan etc will all be alerted too but fingers crossed hey?!

    • I guess the moral of the story is that the entire management team need to start working now for January transfer window. Start by having clear understanding among relevant stake owners to clearly understand all the parameters, from player profiles to cost.
I'd argue they may need to scout where to best offload players as well, if we really depend on their sale fund to contribute to our war chest.

      • Apart from those that are out on loan i don't think it's a sell to buy anymore. The squad needs players.... the RIGHT players now to fill weaknesses. After that then yes it may well be case of one in one out as Rodgers develops the squad into the finished article. But for now we need numbers in certain areas (up front fo sure and left back perhaps)

Llorente would be a very nice addition to any PL squad and I've no doubt there will be a lot of suitors. CL teams probably at the head of the queue.

I still reckon we missed a trick with Pogrebnyak you know (not that we tried for him I know). I saw him the other week for Reading. One big person but he's hopeless with the ball coming at him head height from 40 yards but useful when it's to feet and he comes alive when the ball is put in the box. Pure finisher. A good buy for Reading that one, Fulhams loss.

    • Well Dempsey was saying he wanted to come to LFC and look what happened.. He goes to Spurs..

So I'd be sceptical of a player saying he wants to come here..until it's offical and they're having a medical ..

    • I suspect many other clubs were doing the same. I couldn't understand the carzy asking price when he only has 12 months left. I can only guess that's why clubs have stayed away.

Now if there's a player ready built for the PL it's this guy and nice to hear that we're in there trying. I fully expect there to be a long queue for his signature come Christmas
