    Table & Predictions - 29 Sept to 1 Oct

By the powers vested in me (LOL), I have decided to compensate those who did not manage to submit their predictions with half of the lowest score of the submitted predictions. The lowest score was 4 so I have awarded each of those affected 2 points for last week.

    1. Chong – 19 + 9 = 28
    2. Hobs – 19 + 8 = 27
    3. Kuen – 22 + 4 = 26
    4. Vuvu – 17 + 6 = 23
    5. Voodoo –15 + 7 = 22
    6. Dsteer – 19 + 2 = 21
    7. Ricky – 19 + 2 = 21
    8. Squirl – 15 + 5 = 20
    9. Noo Noo – 13 + 7 = 20
    10. Brad – 16 + 2 = 18
    11. Redrob – 2 + 2 = 4

Ensure you submit you predictions immediately, in case Yahoo misbehaves again. Predictions for 29

    • Although I want to, I feel I have nothing funny to contribute any furthur.

    • There is a change in the ladder, Hobs had two big weeks to climb up to the top. Dsteer submitted his argument but not his predictions thus dropped close to the bottom. Keep up the good work, Rebrob.

      1.Hobs – 27 + 11 = 38
      2. Chong – 28 + 6 = 34
      3. Kuen – 26 + 7 = 33
      4. Ricky – 21 + 8 = 29
      5. Voodoo – 22 + 6 = 28
      6. Vuvu – 23 + 5 = 28
      7. Brad – 18 + 8 = 26
      8. Noo Noo – 20 + 6 = 26
      9. Squirl – 20 + 4 = 24
      10. Dsteer – 21 + 0 = 21
      11. Redrob – 4 + 7 = 11

    • Hi Vuvu, thank you for your generosity to those affected by Yahoo's breakdown. You are most kind and considerate. Keep up the good work, most appreciated.

Here are my predictions for this weekend matches as follows:-

      Arsenal v Chelsea, 1 - 1
      Sunderland v Wigan, 2 - 0
      Reading v Newcastle, 0 - 3
      Everton v Southampton, 2 - 0
      Fulham v Man City, 1 - 3
      Norwich v LFC, 0 - 2
      Stoke v Swansea, 2 - 1
      Man U v Spurs, 1 - 2
      Villa v West Brom, 0 – 1
      QPR v West Ham, 2 - 0

    • Sorry Vuvu, I really don't get your logic here. Half the lowest score? So because some people like to go through the ritual of predicting the scores the day before rather than 4 days before game day, they are only likely to be half as good as the worst prediction for the weekend?

This league is only a bit of fun, so don't want to get on a high horse over it, but let's try and put some reason into this. If you'd said, sorry you missed the window, as s*&t happens I'd accept that, or said let’s keep this as even as possible by canceling the week at least you'd have an even handed approach. But by giving half the worst scores your telling people you are giving compensation when in fact you’re ensuring everyone who missed out due to Yahoo's failings, not their own dropped in the standings.

But it seems no one else see's it the same way, so I'll move on, but had to say my peace. I'll put up my predictions tomorrow as it’s my Friday ritual, and just hope Yahoo does not step in again.

      • Dsteer, I thought colleagues gave me the prerogative to decide on the way forward, and none asked me to explain my logic. That being the case, I made my call, and we all have to live with it. This is a social arrangement and there is no need to scratch our heads to come up with plausible conclusions. We have more pressing decisions to be made at our workplaces or wherever we are engaged daily. If you don't need the 2 point donation, we can happily reduce your score by that......
