Yet again what should have been.........

.....should have been about a 3-0 deserved win......gets frittered away to a narrow too-close-for-comfort 1-0 nailbiter. Reckon I shouldn't complain , at least Reds got the win.

And like Jason has already mentioned , Suarez is lost for the West Ham match. One step forward one step back.

Chances are being created. Can no one slam one home? Its driving me to drink ( the wife isn't buying this one, lol ).

    • End of the day, it is what it is, and it's 3 points and a home win. Earlier this season, and certainly last season it would have become a draw or perhaps a kick in the stomach loss..

While the table still shows 10th, I think we continue to play better and better in all areas, and minus 1-2 lapses by Enrique in tracking back, only because he's forward so much, we were never really threatened.

It's also very clear that Lucas was nowhere near even 50% of his game.. Obviously the fitness and sharpness will come, but medically speaking, I think he's going to be tenative for a while regards to just lunging and diving in because of his mental state. If/when he overcomes that, we'll see his best soon enough..

Allen looks literally exhausted and I didn't think he'd start, so the rest for him was well needed. Sterling looks to be lacking sharpness too, so while we probably need him vs Udinese, I don't see him starting.

So, yes, there were other things to continue to improve, the squad is thin, and not too many are stepping up, but overall, we are better. I know people will still complain about the style, Rodgers, the results, the table, but I have to remind over and over, that last term, after January we were a team falling apart, in terminal decline, 18th in terms of points/form only besting Wolves and Blackburn, with 1 home win. So if I can try to urge the pessimist to look at that for what it is in black and white fact, we are on pace for far more points and wins over this first half with a new manager, new system, new players and alot of very young players..

Shoot me for being optimistic, but I'm never shy to have a go, or slate a player, the team or manager when I feel the need, so while it's not where we want to be, it's better than where it could be and how some will make it out to be.

We've still not even really see what Assaidi can do, Sahin and now Suso are having trouble competing, and come January with additions, we could be poised for a nice run.. currently only 1 defeat in 9... surely to be countered by "but x draws" .. yawn
