    Team to face West Ham?

Forward line is where I'm struggling. I cant disagree with what you have in midfield or defence. We have so many options up front but none really have any punch.

How many league goals across that forward line that you've shown there Hobs? 2 or so I think.

    • I would even ponder putting Joke Hole up there as he had his best game for us playing with Shelvey against Young Boys, then again....

I think it would be great to give Allen a rest so if Shain has recovered from his bloody nose I would put him in or maybe even Hendo who might do better at keeping the West Ham midfield quit.

      ......................Reina.......................
      Wisdom....Skertl...Agger...Johnson
      ............Lucas.....Henderson..........
      ...................Gerrard........................
      Sterling........Shelvey.........Enrique

    • I think it might just be 1 league goal?! Shelvey has 4 but think all are in Europa and league cup? Just Sterling as far as I can remember in the league against Reading. There isn't any goals on the bench really either, it is going to be a tough fixture.

      • It is and people need to step up.

I've double checked the league table and this I see as another critical fixture. It's away from home but a win will potentially move us up the table and put pressure on Arsenal, Stoke and West Ham themselves. We would at least leap frog West Ham. We'd also put pressure on Everton and Swansea.

It would really do us the world of good to be honest, things would look a lot rosier.

Nolan is their problem player and one we need to watch very carefully

    • I'm not so sure. Yes other than Suarez no one has more than a single goal in the league, but that does not mean there are not goals in the rest of the squad. Suarez only has a single goal in the Europa competition, and we've been able to find goals without him, as I think last night was his first start in the competition.

Sometimes I think when you have such a good player up front the players tend to try to get the ball to him so he can do his magic (and why not it works) but when he's not around they have to take responsibility themselves. The same thing happened when Torres was with us, he became the focal point.

JonJo I think is a prime example. For me he's a very impressive player who does have goal in him, as Europa has proven this term. But he can fade when Suarez and or Stevie are on the pitch as he no longer looks to take control of things but will defer to the more senior players.

End of the day you've got to jump in the pool to see if you can swim, and there is no reason why others in the side can't score goals, and now is the time to show it.
