No Allen I see. Giving him a break Hobs? Deserves one to be fair.
Our right hand side is a concern for me with that formation. When Johnson goes missing will Suso cover. Sterling isn't the best at it either and that usually results in Allen being pulled way out wide to cover (Gerrard is also missing at this point)
Fulham are a good side. Tough game.
I agree on principle in giving a couple lads a rest here, and do think Allen needs one, and Sterling while still playing well is a risk of burning out with some many games so young. However I might be tempted to play both of these, at least Sterling against Fulham, and rest them instead against Stoke on Boxing day, as I think the premium for the weekend is technical ability to get the best of Fulham, while Stoke we need a bit of metal as well. Also if Sterling does sign his new deal before this match I'd hope he'd be on a high which give him an extra spark.

Noo Noo/Dsteer, I was also going with the Brendan comments about resting Sterling and Allen. Allen looks to have really gone off the boil in the last few weeks, he does just look over tired. Sterling too has looked a bit leggy and hasn't had that electric pace about him. My thinking was Assaidi and Sahin coming in for just those reasons of technical ability so that we can put out a physically stronger team at Stoke. Turns out Assaidi is still injured and Sahin is training with a protective mask from his broken nose!
Now I would be tempted to go with Henderson to replace Sahin and Joe Cole over Assaidi. That would leave us fresh to throw in Shelvey/Downing to have a war at Stoke. Wouldnt be suprised to see us go 3 at the back at the Brittania with Coates or Carra coming in either.
