    Fiorentina want Borini!

I am happy to give players 2 seasons at the club, but sometimes you don't look a gift horse in the mouth, and this is one of those situations for me. If its on, we should do it! Then we should have a pop at Damaio this summer. Failing that Gomez is out of favour at Bayern (41 goals last season).

I think it's been very difficult for Borini to settle and let's face it, he spends most of his time on the treatment table.

    • Whatever they are offering...pull their hand off !

    • They have Rossi already, would seem odd as he is a similar player but I would advise to sell him if we can recoup £6m ish, they will be in the market for a striker as Jovetic seems to be getting interest from all over the place. Borini was an understandable gamble but not one that is paying off. He is clearly a player that is capable of much more then we have seen but I think we should be looking in a different direction now. Firstly, he isnt actually good enough to cover Sturridge or Suarez so we assume his role is for the future. If he is for the future then that means in a couple of years he is to be playing in front of the likes of Yesil, I cant see that either. I think he is stuck in a pointless limbo. Great shout on Gomez, can you imagine that?! I have this feeling he might pop up in the premier league but possibly City or someone a bit bigger then us right now. What have you done Loki?! That is all I can think about now, we better bloody well buy him!

    • I hope for his own sake that he stays for a while. He has been bouncing around clubs the past few years and needs to get settle and work his way up through the ranks. He has had a nightmare season and I would like to see what he can do under better circumstances.

      • I agree, I think it would be unwise to sell him.

Yes he's not lit things up since he came in, but then again he's not been on the pitch long enough for us to even see what he's capable of. Some might then call him a sick note, but a broken foot on International duty and then a freak fall are not usually the type of injuries that can plague a career.

For me it comes down to why did we buy him in the first place, and do you trust the man who brought him in. For me we have not seen enough, but I got to assume someone at the club thought him good enough to part with the money he cost. That is a player Chelsea wanted to keep but did not re sign because he wanted first time football and someone who has been a proven goal scorer in both the Championship and Italy’s top division.

To sell him now before he’s had a chance to settle and prove what he can actually do implies we don't trust the gaffer in which case we should keep him away from all transfer decisions. Now that might be true for some, but in so then to be honest a manager who can’t spot a decent player (even if he does make mistakes once in a while) should not be our manager.

    • This isn't a criticism of Borini but why does a dislocated shoulder have a player out for three months or more? When I was a kid I dislocated my shoulder in the sportsday wheelbarrow race (we came second). At hospital the doctor looked at it, said "this won't hurt" **, and then wrenched it back into place. Next day I was back out scrapping in the playground.

      Robert

** When a doctor says that to you, give him a finger in each eye, a kick in the nuts and run, no matter what your shoulder location.
