    Enrique and Lucas

Looking at the way the team is performing lately, I think it is no small part down to the improving fitness of these two lads. Some may say I am overly optimistic in view of some of the dodgy results we've had lately, but Enrique has allowed Glen to move back to RB and we look a superb attacking unit, and we all know Stevie prefers playing alongide Lucas and the side looks much more balanced with Lucas there.

    • loki agreed Lucas and Enrique have put in some strong performances as they appear to be coming back to full match fitness I have been particularly impressed withthe way Enrique seems to have overcome his tendency to push that bit too far fw sometimes and get caught out of position his style of play out of the back line has been very composed a cool professional eh...great to see him coming good.

    • I'd agree with that, and think balance is the key element here. With strong full backs on both sides, and the confidence the entire squad gets from Lucas in the center we look more potent from many parts of the pitch, meaning an opponent can't just mark Suarez out of the game and assume they've taken care of us. I'd also throw Downing in there as well; who I think has to be the most improved player of the season when you compare where he was this time last season.

But we've still got a long way to go before we're where we need to be, but I agree it is significant progress in the right direction. With steady improvements from some in the existing squad, especially those who have recently broken into the first team squad or even the starting 11, plus recruitment of a few select quality players for key positions, and I think we'll be ready to assault the top 4 next season.
