    Why no Ronnie...????

    by Jacks Dec 14, 2014 09:10

Quite right Butch, snooker is a game played by fat, beer swilling bogans, as described by Wikipedia .....

"One version of events states that Colonel Sir Neville Chamberlain of the Devonshire regiment (not the later Prime Minister of the same name) was playing this new GAME when his opponent failed to pot a ball and Chamberlain called him a snooker. It thus became attached to the billiards GAME now bearing its name as inexperienced players were labelled as snookers.

Snooker grew in popularity in England but generally it was still a GAME for the gentry, and many well established gentleman clubs which had a billiards table would not allow nonmembers inside to play. To accommodate the popularity of the GAME , smaller and more open snooker-specific clubs started to be formed.

The GAME of snooker grew in the later half of the 19th century and the early 20th century, and by 1927 the first World Snooker Championship had been organised by Joe Davis who, as a professional English billiards and snooker player, moved the GAME from a pastime activity into a more professional sphere. Joe Davis won every world championship until 1946 when he retired. The GAME went into a decline through the 1950s and 1960s with little interest generated outside of those who played. In 1959, Davis introduced a variation of the GAME , known as snooker plus, to try to improve the GAME 's popularity by adding two extra colours. However, it never caught on."

Don't you just love Geordies, they're so easy to take the pith out of!

West Ham favorite on current form

    by Govinda Dec 27, 2014 19:01

Great result!! Poor performance. Why does Wenger insist on bringing on 2 additional defenders when we lead a game in the 85 minute? It always means we start to play panic football. Defenders tend to drop back inviting all of the play to be in our half and reducing the players that can keep a ball or that can be an outlet for a pass.

Joint 4th on points!!! Beat Southampton, and Stoke next in the PL, buy Schneiderlin or an other top DM and a CD and we can begin to have some hope and ambition.

    How is Welbeck doing?

by HRH Gillian Brown BO Dec 23, 2014 10:26

I think he is not much better than Giroud but I still prefer him to Giroud. Out on the wing he is not very good.

Arsenal need a quality striker. Costa would have been great. Bony would have been good but Giroud is not good enough and Welbeck doesn't get the chance. He doesn't look like he could develop into a world class striker but he still could benefit from more games in the middle.

  • Probably by many opinions, the greatest snooker player ever to pick up a cue. Yet never once invited, when there were times he would have won the Sports Personality of the Year award hands down
O'Sullivan's snub is not only thoroughly embarrassing joke, it is bloody disgraceful. A skier who is visually impaired and her guide have been nominated. So too has Charlotte Dujardin for a spot of horse-dancing, or dressage as it is better known, with her horse Valegro. But not a World Champion who has entertained and provided some of the greatest snooker, and 147 breaks the world has ever seen, for millions upon millions of BBC viewers
You would have been as well nominating the Newcastle United fan who decided to do a spot of horse boxing a few years back. You couldn't make it up. But in the BBC's case you can. You would have got a better list of candidates asking the horse. The BBC? A place for fairies and horse faced women who prefer the former.

  • no sign of butch the cairns mongrel utd supporter when he's needed to explain how Manure cant win a trick with the Dutch 'master' ARRRRHHHHH! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha h aha....oh dear pmsl so much. Now Govinda, if that didn't satisfy you watching Arsene Wengers team give Hughes and his Stoke bully boys a good spanking, sending them back to where they came from looking like well slapped #$%$ They were chasing shadows the whole game and couldn't believe they looked like wax statues we were playing against

    by TheButchNemesis Dec 5, 2014 23:16

    Ouch!

I must have touched a nerve....again! Especially since you went on a mad rant with your little 'jackanory' thread aimed at me!

But 'jackanory' is what I named you because of all the tales you've told over the years on these boards, that just goes to show you couldn't even come up with something original of your own, always COPYING A GEORDIE!

Remember when you supposedly 'chinned Lee Bowyer' on here? Your list of tall tales goes on and on and on! - PMSL!!!

LMFAO - you best go and knit yourself another little geordie bloke and keep that unhealthy obsession of yours over me flowing with pure hatred!

    OINK OINK!

  • Its so good to see that the idiots of the boards are being ignored. We miss nothing with their exclusion from anything other than football. Now onto more pleasing things than them.
I thought the team AW put out seem all to have played pretty well. The result was outstanding. Names I hadn't even thought of made a big move forward in wanting selection into the main squad. All in all, I have reason to smile for a while at least until things go pear shaped. But maybe not. As I said before the lastPL result could be a spring board for better things. Amen to that.

    "unbeaten in several matches now"

Is that not counting Stoke, on the 6th December?

Maybe that's why you didn't turn up here, or make any comment, because you didn't know?

    Any complaints...???

    by Jacks Dec 13, 2014 20:28

Oh look, it's fair-weather Jackar$e, nowhere to be seen after the Stoke game, but pops up whenever Arsenal wins.

  • I personally think AW would have settled for a draw at the start of the game. And from a improvement point of view it made very little difference, as once again results in the PL keep yo-yoing up down each week. The equalizer was a matter of naivety. Should have been playing 'keep the ball' instead of waiting for the whistle to blow in desperation. However at the end of the season it will have had little effect on 3rd or 4th place. Also does anyone not see a golden opportunity in the CL having drawn Monaco?? I do, and I think we could be the very dark horses here. The unbeaten in several matches now, still leaves us with great potential. Though to read Yahoo and the rest of the Arsenal knockers, its 'the end' for Arsenal and AW. ....guffaw!

    Happy New Year

    by John Jan 2, 2015 16:56

Happy New Year John and those few left on this board. I think Podolski makes us weaker in theory only. Wenger refused to play him and even chose Sanogo ahead of him.

Personally I don't think Wenger will do what it takes in the window and on the pitch. I also think he is burning out Sanchez by playing him way too much. A few weeks ago Wenger admitted Sanchez is playing in the red zone, yet with the exception of 1 CL game he has not rested him. This could come back to haunt us. Also when Ozil returns we will be even weaker defensively. So my prediction that we finish outside of the top 4 still stands.

We don't even have the budget to buy the players we need. IMO we need Schneiderlin and a top quality CB.

TBH even with our injured players fit we didn't impress.

I agree with Jacks that it was a nobrainer that we were not going to trouble Southampton throwing crosses into the box to Sanchez, Carzorla and Rosicky. I guess even Campbell has more physical presence than those three yet Campbell is an other player Wenger gives no minutes to get used to the PL.

    Good to see....

..... that, as usual, you fail to notice that YOU are completely ignored on here, except by the Geordie child!

    LMFAOATTY!

  • Guess this was a fair result. Not impressed with the way this game was managed by Wenger. Why not give Campbell a chance at some point? Three small players like Carzorla, Rosicky and Alexis where never likely to bother the Southampton defense. 4th will be harder than many think and I still don't think we will finish 4th this season. And the bad news is that we didn't lose this game in defensive midfield. We were just out played by a better prepared side and more disciplined side.

  • Is, IMO, that we often push our key players to the limit and beyond. Wenger admits that Sanchez is in the red zone yet he continues to play him. Being in the red zone is not about being able to chase balls as much of give 100% it is much more about becoming much more injury prone and injuries sustained whilst in the red zone generally take much longer to heal.

We should have the depth to rotate players enough so we don't need to run them into the red zone. It is better to lose Sanchez for one game than for 4 weeks. Yet this seems to be one of recuuring errors going back further than playing Fabregas until he was injured often.

To me this is not so smart given the big injury problems we have. We don't know how far we can push it? When a player is in the red zone stop pushing him at all!!!!!

    Wenger Quote
Alexis Sanchez will be given next week off after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted his £30million man is in the ‘red zone’.

The Chile international has been one of the stars of the season so far following his switch from Barcelona. But, including internationals, Sanchez has played 27 games since August, and this has taken a toll.

And Wenger will rest the striker after today’s clash with Stoke.Arsenal head to Turkey on Monday for their Champions League clash against Galatasaray, but Sanchez will stay in London.

‘Sanchez is in the red zone, you can see when he plays, but he can dig deep.

He played his 27th game on Wednesday (against Southampton) since the start of the season. Unfortunately you never know how far you can push it.

‘We are not scientific enough to predict that completely but he recovers very quickly.’

  • This is interesting, Indonesia is reportedly the number one destination for Australian child sex tourists, mostly starting in Bali but also travelling to other parts of the country.

The problem in Bali was highlighted by Luh Ketut Suryani, head of Psychiatry at Udayana University, as early as 2003.

Luh Ketut Surayani warned that a low level of awareness of paedophilia in Bali had made it the target of international paedophile organisations. On 19 February 2013, government officials announced measures to combat paedophilia in Bali...and we all know who currently resides in Australia and has been claiming to be moving to Bali soon....you gotta larf because if you think about it too much, you'll end up puking!

  • This board is dead and I bet that sad sack who reckons that 'it' is moving to Bali will end up spending the remainder of 'it's' days dwelling about the fact a geordie tormented 'it' for the best part of a decade and there was nothing 'it' could do about it! - LMFAO!!!
