I don't know if its the same with anybody else, but if you don't scratch your head and wonder about the almost unexplainable, such as the Arsenal team itself, then you know more than I do, because to try and explain their never ending ups and downs in performances has now become a subject that even has the media scratching their heads. Tell me someone please, how is it that a team can play another off the park and still lose. Then almost in the same week, come out and comfortably beat a top European side in one of the most competitive football competitions in the world ?? That to me at least is indeed simply psychological. It has to me. One can almost make a case for sheer bad luck ( once again we are left without another key player for 3months) but surely not continues bad luck? Meanwhile I will continue not to get too downhearted about something that it almost becoming a regular occurrence.
You're not alone James.
I was at the Utd game and we did everything right to a point. That being, Jack Wilshere created chance after chance. If he could have only stuck away his first opportunity.... After he was taken off, we failed to penetrate their defence. simple as. We pressed, then pressed harder. in the end we got too committed and let them get us on the break. The first goal was unlucky. Their second was a good one. Di Maria cocked up, or it could have been three.
Dortmund are a top team...that are not performing as such. they are mid table in Germany at the mo. Same as us really.
Wenger needs to buy in January. We need a CB and a DM at least. He needs to spend £50m+ too. No #$%$ or our season goes nowhere..
A handy 3 points? Having seen the game my opinion is, as most team are struggling against so called inferior sides, this was a good result given the 'shut them out at all costs' methods adopted by the afore mentioned. It isn't the Arsenal's or the Man C's that cant play their game of football, they aren't allowed to play 'football' any longer. Its just a game of tactics. How the hell does Sunderland side hold Chelsea to a draw, if not by adopting the 'shut them out at all costs attitude'.? And that includes knocking them down with tackles that are killing off good players for long periods of time. If the perpetrator is only going to get a yellow(on average) for it, what chance do top teams have when they are p-laying with the 'handicap' of fear. Worth a thought when your a struggling team trying to stay alive in the PL where the money is.
Sunderland were unlucky.
Diego Costa was very lucky to stay on the pitch. Not least for the hand in the face of Wes Brown. He knew where Brown was and did it on purpose. BUT he came very close to taking the head of John O'Shea. He lashed out, only to hold his kick at the very last. If the ref had seen it, it would have been a straight red.
We were lucky too. Berahino was onside and was close to being one on one with the keeper.
Happy that we won though.
.....has to be a good positive result against S'hampton, which could trigger a good run over Xmas. We live in hope and expectation with Arsenal. BTW any news on the CL draw or am I early?
Seven weeks travelling around paradise with my son, and what's happened here?
The sad, immature Geordie has sunk to new depths of immaturity with ..... wait for it ..... Mancnobber Ushyted ...... can you believe that? He gets younger as he gets older! I made an hilarious video on Sanur Beach in Bali, asking the locals what they thought of Geordies, I'll get it up on Youtube soon. Their reputation as idiots has crossed the world!
Then we have the yank, who has responded to Govinda's football posts with his usual vitriol, a substitute for football knowledge. He can't compete one on one talking football, so he does what he does best, shows himself up with childish insults, and the usual reference to standing on the North Bank 50 years ago, with the claim that makes him a REAL fan.
Govinda's repost to the yank's threat that he was, ".... saving this and I'm going to rub your moaning bl..dy face in it." was hilarious, it sent the yank right over the top! Good stuff Govinda.
This place really should be put down. Luckily, I'm off next year, moving to Bali. I've got a nice four bed villa on Sanur beach with a pool, a cook and a maid, (mandatory there to employ at least one person), and the chance to take a stake in a local nightclub, not a pretend one like the whole of Geordie Child's life!
I won't do what certain idiots did here last season, and brag about the fact Arsenal and United have swapped places, I'll leave that for the end of the season.
Cue the idiots ....... LMFAO!
just when things were back to normal, without the tiresome moron Ricki 'the cabbage head' Altree, we now have to wipe the forum floor with this poor excuse for a £10 pom. trying to convince nobody on here that he has been away travelling. If he hadn't been such a boring liar most of his existence, we may have believed him. As it is you will have to forgive us Rikki but nobody even remembers who you are let alone asking anyone to accept your nonsense. Was there no way they would let you stay in the bali bush with your tin cup loin cloth and sandals ? You are and about as welcome and worn as a beggars purse on here, and just as empty of any credibility.
Hahaha, I knew it wouldn't take long for you to BITE!
" nobody even remembers who you are" ..... Except YOU, Mr "I Watched From The North Bank Fifty Years Ago" Brown!
And the Geordie Child, of course, he's been worried sick for seven weeks that I wouldn't come back, cos I'm all he lives for, I'm his online fantasy world, along with his pretend house in France, his pretend property empire, his pretend fleet of classic cars, and his pretend wife!
So get back to "normal", yank, run down everyone who has an opinion on football .... John and Govinda, and show us just what a twot you are!
PS: How's Gillian, has she found the number for the cops yet? I'll bet they're just itching to track me down for insulting you!
Is, IMO, that we often push our key players to the limit and beyond. Wenger admits that Sanchez is in the red zone yet he continues to play him. Being in the red zone is not about being able to chase balls as much of give 100% it is much more about becoming much more injury prone and injuries sustained whilst in the red zone generally take much longer to heal.
We should have the depth to rotate players enough so we don't need to run them into the red zone. It is better to lose Sanchez for one game than for 4 weeks. Yet this seems to be one of recuuring errors going back further than playing Fabregas until he was injured often.
To me this is not so smart given the big injury problems we have. We don't know how far we can push it? When a player is in the red zone stop pushing him at all!!!!!
Alexis Sanchez will be given next week off after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted his £30million man is in the ‘red zone’.
The Chile international has been one of the stars of the season so far following his switch from Barcelona. But, including internationals, Sanchez has played 27 games since August, and this has taken a toll.
And Wenger will rest the striker after today’s clash with Stoke.Arsenal head to Turkey on Monday for their Champions League clash against Galatasaray, but Sanchez will stay in London.
‘Sanchez is in the red zone, you can see when he plays, but he can dig deep.
He played his 27th game on Wednesday (against Southampton) since the start of the season. Unfortunately you never know how far you can push it.
‘We are not scientific enough to predict that completely but he recovers very quickly.’
...defending again against an equally shambolic Stoke, as were some of the other results today. shambolic Chelsea, as well as L'pool, Tottenham, Everton, and most of the top ten. So its not just Arsenal. The result didn't matter at all in terms of position in the league. Manure going dutch, will as usual go backwards again and we are all back to where we were a week ago. Time to wake up another shambolic human, who is probably well into his third bottle of rum on a Saturday night. We should be getting some of his bucolic vomiting on here some time soon. He's about as boring as Manchester's football......
Surely, someone who owns a Bentley would easily be able to afford to buy their own nightclub in such a cheap country like Bali?
Or is this nightclub just a front for human trafficking and exploiting underage girls into selling their meat for pennies to dirty old nonces from Australia?
So, you're not just nuts deep in orangutans, there's children involved too!
Seven weeks of pretending to be travelling, but I know that you were really on the Yahoo articles in your various different ID's getting yourself wound up, as per usual. - LMFAO!!!
" I own an apartment in Newcastle City centre which is a 15 walk from the ground, I also own two properties in the Jesmond area which are let out to students and which I make an income off."
Hahaha!! Jackanory tell us a story!
".... you can check out the police car on my avatar. The photo was taken yesterday and you don't see many police cars like that in Newcastle and that's me stood near the front of it, with a globe covering my identity."
The most hilarious of all the hilarious bullshyte the Geordie fool has ever come up with!
I look forward to the inevitable BITE!
I must have touched a nerve....again! Especially since you went on a mad rant with your little 'jackanory' thread aimed at me!
But 'jackanory' is what I named you because of all the tales you've told over the years on these boards, that just goes to show you couldn't even come up with something original of your own, always COPYING A GEORDIE!
Remember when you supposedly 'chinned Lee Bowyer' on here? Your list of tall tales goes on and on and on! - PMSL!!!
LMFAO - you best go and knit yourself another little geordie bloke and keep that unhealthy obsession of yours over me flowing with pure hatred!
Hahahahaha!! MUNCH, MUNCH, CHOMP CHOMP!!
Only a Geordie would think his BITE didn't count because he posted it in another thread!
Hit a nerve, did I??
Its so good to see that the idiots of the boards are being ignored. We miss nothing with their exclusion from anything other than football. Now onto more pleasing things than them.
I thought the team AW put out seem all to have played pretty well. The result was outstanding. Names I hadn't even thought of made a big move forward in wanting selection into the main squad. All in all, I have reason to smile for a while at least until things go pear shaped. But maybe not. As I said before the lastPL result could be a spring board for better things. Amen to that.
