what players should arsenal buy for next season

    by john Jun 9, 2005 00:03

i think Mr.Wenger should buy 1 new goalkeeper to replace lehmann. in my opinion, he is useless, poor keeper than div 3's keeper. i reckon sebastian Frey. he is young and i think wenger will develop him to become a great keeper like buffon. Wenger side still need to improve at the back, they should but another centre back. i reckon Asthon Ferdinand from west ham utd. he is young and didn't cost too much... and mr wenger like young player too.. NOW,arsenal FC would have a headache when wenger sell vieira, but why not wenger try to bring NICKY BUTT from newcastle le??? he is good enough to replace vieira. they should also buy a winger such as figo or joe cole or even vicente from valencia. For striker Arsenal should try to sign owen or defoe. both are young enough and they should become great players in the future. SO,WENGER GO AHEAD!!!! IF NOT NEXT SEASON.... YOU ONLY WILL FINISH 8TH IN THE STANDING.....

i think arsenal should buy a new winger since current wingers have getting seasoned-player. and for that kind of new fresh gunners that i expect to be fielded in arsenal first xi is germany`s international bastian swaeingteiger of bayern munich.correct me if the spelling is wrong;).maybe arsene should a little bit make a trust to non frenchmen to be a playmaker.and i think flamini buy is nonsence.

hi, I believe Wenger has made the biggest mistake of his Arsenal managership, he sold too old Veira thinking that the signing of Baptista was a formality, now that it is obvious that will not take place, he has panicked and turned to an old age has been Guti to replace him, a player of same age as too old Veira, but a player who could not tie Veiras boots. I think and believe this is the start of the end for a great manager.

Overall, we need Zat Knight from Fulham to replace a big defensive presence that we lost in Viera, either Sanchez/GIven/PSV goalie for a new goalie cause Lehman f***in sucks. And I think Beaslie from PSV, man's crazy good and he's better than Ljunberg.

  • tell yu what all yu Gunners, that FA final, "man utd lost the match they won!!"

Get it right, he will sell your assets one by one. We would never compare ourselves to Man Utd, trust me in the next five years there will only be one team in manchester. Manchester City!!!!!!!! Arsenal are a class above Glazers rubbish!

  • What a sad day for all Arsenal Fans. We have AW saying he wishes to sign another 2 worldclass players in the next 10 days, and he ends up letting 2 (PV & Edu) go plus Pires who will also go. Hill-Wood who has no ambition slatters on about building a worldclass team.....Chelsea fans must be jumping up for joy. It will take AFC at least 2 years to build the team up again. In the meantime I expect Freddie L, Ashley Cole, Henry etc to ask 'WHY BOTHER. Ask yourself this would Juventus sell David Treg, Real sell Ronaldo, Chelsea Lampard, the list goes on.....

  • What the hell is wenger doing? I`m a huge Arsenal fan and I`m all for the club moving forward but if I remember right, wenger said he would not be selling any top players, well what the hell is Vieira? Probably the best central midfield player in the world? Don`t say its because he had an on/off season last season, who dosen`t, he`s had 7 good seasons and has been part of the backbone of our club that has made us what we are today. So is fabregas and flamini gonna cover his spot? Never in a million years! Wenger better spend the money he`s made and more on a replacement, but as per usual he`s slow and reserved in the transfer market! Wenger will feel the pressure from Arsenal fans across the country if we fail to win anything this season, because the first thing managers, pundits and fans will say is that he should never have sold Vieira! Who else will be gunning for wengers blood if we don`t win the league?

Selling Vieira is a huge mistake?

    by A Yahoo! User Jul 15, 2005 04:51

no no.Why would you blame Wenger? What can he do if Vieira doesn't want to play for Arsenal anymore? I mean, come on, 9 years! He gave more than a lot of players. And imagine that he had to cope with racism about his colour and also about his nationality, because in this country nobody like french(why?i dont know). We can't blame either of them, but just carry on supporting the great team that Arsenal is and the great coach that Arsene Wenger is! and we have to remember PV as one of the best captain of the club history

I think this a bit of a strong reaction. He has been good in the past, he wasn't so good last year. Teams evolve and wengers doing a pretty good job in that respect. Enjoy the season, it'll be good. We may miss Viera in certain ways but I'm sure Wenger will set the team up differently, play to the strngths of the new team and move forward. We may not beat Chelsea and their mega millions but I am sure we'll do pretty well and with a bit of confidence and the odd slice of luck it'd be good to see us challenging in the later stage of the Champions League. Good luck to the gunners.Let's look forwards not backwards no one is indespensible.

    Arsenal have to sign Ballack!

    by A Yahoo! User Jul 16, 2005 18:55

We don't need Ballack to fill the captaincy in the team. I think everyone would agree that Henry is the logical replacement for PV04's departure. Henry has it all to make an ideal captain. He has a very strong will to fight (this can be seen in every of his actions). Thierry is the greatest goalscorer and he is a great goal feeder too.He has been the most consistent player in Europe for the last three years. Viera was good, but i feel he has underperformed last season and it was the time for him to go. Fabregas is young but has the possibility of being one of the best midfielders in the world. As for captaincy, I dont think Ballack is the good example to give. We have Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole, Thierry Henry. Who better than them? Arsenal is not weak without Patrick, on the contrary, the midfield game will change. We have Robert Pires, who is a great goal scorer for a midfielder, Ljunberg, Reyes, Helb, Fabregas, Gilberto, Flamini and these two fantastic Dutch players (Berkamp & Van Persi). Our defence has improved with Senderos, Clichy who has excelent skills. A big name signing such as Ballack will not help us at all. He has a different kind of game that does not suit Arsenal's way of playing. Do not forget how young was Patrick when he joined the club, who would have said then, that he is a great player. Of course losing Patrick has been a big blow for all of us, as we will miss his great skills. But let's face it, the guy has lost his touch. He's not as aggressive as he was and we will see better days for Arsenal FC. I rather see Henry being captain, as he lately is with the french team. Henry is seen as a leader by his teamates and his contribution to Arsenal is far more significant than the skills Ballack can give to the club. Last season was a transitional phase for Arsenal with lots of injuries. I am sure next season will be a very good and productive one. For those of you who questions Arsene Wenger's decision to let go Vieira, let me remind you that he is the one who is running the show. He has the vision and has proved it during his time at the club. If he asks us to trust him, I think we should listen to him carefully. We don't need Ballack, Ballack can't make a club succeed by himself. Henry should and would be, in my opinion, the captain of Arsenal next season, and we will all be happy about it. Good Luck for the guys

  • Baptista and Henry up front bolstered by Pires (hopefully), Ljunberg, Hleb and Van Persie (if he doesn't go down) on the flanks and Fabregas coming in through in an attacking central midfield role would make our already potent attack even more devastating. I think we should up the bid slightly for Baptista and see how these two new defenders cope on their trials. I don't think a keeper is necessary. Lehman has made one or two errors but upon recollection, Seaman was far more prone to the gaff than Lehman. Lehman's style means he neutralises goalscoring opportunites by rushing out for crosses and corners, where Seaman would have stood still and gotten lobbed like a lemon. It's just when Lehamn errs, it looks worse because he's so far out of position. Lehman saves us more far, far, far more than people would like to admit. Seaman was far more embarrassing.

  • Signing Ballack is a no no we dont need him & hes too much money & therefore a waste. wot we need is Baptista who is strong (like old patrick was) & knocked in 20 goals in 30 games (Tottenham Scum HANDS OFF). We cant rely on Thierry to score 90% of our goals, we need someone in the box knocking them in! Henry & Baptista upfront, with alot of talented midfielders coming through and Sol, Toure & Senderous in central defence & Cole & Clichy come on we have a superb team for now and years to come, all it needs is a few up & coming defenders on chill ready for when needed.

One Question for Mr Wenger, y havent we got rid of that pile of Sh ite Cygan, if i was the Arsenal manager i would swap him for a £10 M&S voucher & think i did well out of the deal.

    CMON ARSENAL!!!!!
