arsenal should buy players like shuan right philips and micheal essien. and possibly carlo cudicini of chelsea. he is the only solution to our problem of goal area.

arsenal should not spend more than 5 million pound on guti if they decide to but him. if they are buying him for 12 million pound they are making a real mistake cause spending 15-17 million pound on essien is very much better. another thing is that they should still try to persuade robinho. they should also buy carlo cudicini from chelsea cause he is the first trong player from primiership goal keepers.i wander why wenger is still coming with lehmann. wengerdoes not look to spend money on players cause he studied how to save the money you have rother than makeing high profit by buying players like robinho.

i think they shld not buy anyone, just beef up the defence and let the youngsters shoot at it again. i mean the likes of reyes are enough for any tean, they need to be patient only

I fink dat every arsenal fan is right , but the bottom line is we can't have what we all want dat's the way da world works , but Mr wenger can have who ever he wants if he fells like he does not want buy any big name players then good for you mate , but remember one thing stop make excuses when the team is not perform bcoz the whole world knows what you have done mate and we r not at all pleased .

    by A Yahoo! User Jul 3, 2005 00:15

Forget Robinho he is not premiership strong we have got a midfilder, Helb ,now Wenger should get a defender portugal's Andrade and a keeper. If not Cudicini then Given is not bad. If wenger wants to get his usual unknown player he should get Benjani of Auxere as our goal poacher> good luck Gunners

    Arsenal have to sign Ballack!

    by A Yahoo! User Jul 16, 2005 18:55

Ballack would be the ideal replacement for Viera, if not him, then guti or owen hargreaves( i prefer Guti).
and the best part is Guti seems to want a move to highbury
I don't think bapista will come though.
I wish both robinho and baptista came here, then we wouldn't have to keep depending on henry
    CMON GUNNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Signin Ballack & Arsenal in general

    by A Yahoo! User Jul 19, 2005 23:25

What is happening with our transfer policy?? I hope we are not returning to the George Graham days when we seemed eternally frustrated awaiting any sort of "Star" player to sign for us.I am not criticising Arsene who is by far & away our best manager in my opinion ever but I feel he is being let down by the board who always seem to put the reins on any manager who needs to spend.I think we need to sign 3 players a Goalkeeper of proven class a right back to give competition to Lauren or better still replace him & a Midfield General to try & fill some of the void which will have been left by Vieira & Edu.However Wenger does not seem to agree & who am i to disagree with THE MAN.I just hope we dont go through the same scenario as last season when we should have strengthened Pre-Season & didnt & payed the consequences by losing the title & getting eliminated from the Champions league through woeful Goalkeeping & defending.Having said that I hope I am proved totally wrong nothing would make me happier. One last thing Thanks Bruce Rioch for giving us Dennis Bergkamp way back in 95 I just hope we can find someone half as good to replace him when he hangs his boots up at the end of the season.

Signin Ballack & Arsenal in general

    by A Yahoo! User Jul 19, 2005 23:25

Having watched Arsenal last nite, i was both pleased & disappointed.......... There was some great movement, Hleb looks like hes gonna b a fantastic buy, Freddy is on form already & good old Dennis looks like he will be giving the young ones a run for there money after some fantastic play, but the middle, no Viera infact was there anyone really there?? Wenger get your arse in gear, get your wallet out & sign someone fast!!! oh and no muppets like Cygan please, although i thought i saw him do a great defensive interception, was this me or just the 5 cans of Bud i had drunk????
Today we are linked with a new Keeper, Viera, dont hang about and wait for someone to jump in, sign him cos Jens did the old butter fingers last nite & it could be a sign that theres more of that to come.

  • Weren't we supposed to be signing a new keeper in the summer sales? WHY did we sell Stuart Taylor (prediction - he'll play for England)? I trust Arsene's judgement on Hleb + Song, but it seems sad we can't sign the players we really want - Wright-Phillips, Baptista, Jenas, etc. Crouch could have been an inspirational buy as well - Liverpool saw sense!

  • is he coming, i think he will be a great asset to the team.
does anyone know anything more besides what we read in the papers & the internet.

Dub think v need another striker. Henry, VP and DB are good enough wit Ljungberg can be converted to be striker n he’s quite sharp althou DB is getting caught up by age. We have enough class in this room.
As for wingers, we have enough quality in JAR, RP and Hleb (coming back soon!) and Qwusu Aibeye not far behind any of them in my opinion plus we hav defenders like Toure n Clichy can play as a winger as well. As for central midfield, GS, Frabregas, Lupoli n Alex Song are enough in number but not enough in quality. The youngsters have the potential but certainly not good enough (need more experience in Eurpoe) to play against some of the best like Ballack, Nedved, Seedorft, Viera, Makelele, Zidane, Ronaldinho etc. We need a strong reinforcement. Ballack is good n available but dun think will fit well n a bit old. No other good cm available now with the amount of money AW willing to spend. So we can only hope AW to unearth another gem to fit straight.
As for Back 4, right back v hav enough quality in AC n Clichy (can play as a winger as well) just unfortunately they r injured at the same time. Left back wit Lauren n Eboue, we are fine but Cicinho will be ideal if we can afford. Central back with Toure, Campbell (hate to admit he’s slower now n tend to lose concentration) n Sanderos should b ok but 1 more experience player will b great to cover campbell n release Toure to left back if necessary.
As for goalkeeper, v really need 1 that can threaten Lehman for his place. Lehman is too comfortable there wit no challenge at all. Almunia is not good enough. Just look at how Lehman play against Wigan, it’s totally a joke the way he distributed the ball from goal kicks to the crowd so many times, some even did’t pass half way line. Coupet (Lyon) would be ideal.

  • Of course we're beatable... but Arsenal now have a gaping hole in the centre of midfield. Fabregas will be a tidy player, but is weak physically. Arsenal's strength came from Vieira's ability to cover every defensive blade of grass and intimidate people with his physicality.

Chelsea are rusty at the minute, I agree on that point, but Arsenal by no means set the game on fire and were lucky to score in all honesty.

It was a good match - sets it up nicely for the league game. Best of luck for the new season.

no, we cannot afford ppl like Essein, Gerrard, Owen etc. because for time being we just do not have enough money... we still have a stadium to build and hopefully after that we can earn enough money to compete...
