    new stadium development

    by Kevin Oct 19, 2010 01:06

There is a lot of rumour and conjecture doing the rounds as to the actual figures but its fairly certain this project is not being held up over a measly million quid.
The basic problem is the north Tottenham area needs doing up big time and the council, TfL and EH have tried to squeeze Spurs into paying for it all...ie not just for our new stadium, hotel, supermarket but upgrading stations, road improvements, pedestrian walkways, parking schemes, investing in community projects...just about everything you can think of. Some sources have quoted the total extra bunce we are being asked to pay is in the region of £60 million!! My guess is that is nonsense but you can bet your ar5e it isnt just £1 million. Anyway until Boris et al get real and stop taking the p*ss....the threat of moving to Stratford remains.

The curse of the England shirt!
I reckon if you stuck Lionel Messi in one he'd play like Stephen Hawking!

Glen Johnson? Pah..whoever told that chump he was world class needs psychiatric help...and if I was his team mate, everytime I saw him about to stroke his hair I'd slap his hand away with a firm 'NO'!

I know its a bit presumptious of me )as I havent actually commited myself to attend KM's get together).....but it might be a nice idea to raise the first glass in honour of berlinspur...a thoroughly decent poster and fellow lilywhite.

I actually believe Hardon or Jeff (or whatever he calls himself this week)
I genuinely believe he does have 2 houses, a wife and kids.
I feel I do need to clarify on the 'self made' claim though.
I believe he has actually fashioned these things out of his own faeces and keeps them on the mantlepiece of his grubby lodgings!

Silly old bagpuss.....have you actually looked at our new stadium yet Man'Dee'...??
I know youve spent all afternoon dodging that particular task and making stuff up about the Emirates but while your waiting for that cuppa to brew why not browse the plans and enjoy gawping at a stadium that is going to make yours look and sound like a library.....oh hang on!!

Despite prodding you in the general direction several times now you still havent grasped that we are building a NEW stadium...not expanding an old one! Now who is the cretin?
And we are staying put in North London...another fact that seems to have escaped you....you obvioulsy never bothered to click on the link earlier. Thats why Im still here...you are just making it all up as you go along without using any facts.....im almost embarrassed for you.
PS you havent even applied for planning permission to expand so you've got a long fcuking wait...and no its not a formallity...if you knew anything about the local council you'd see how foolish you are being...NEXT

Jeez...youve got no fcuking idea have you?
Most of your points are the usual boring gooner diatribe...nothing to do with the stadiums build at all so I'll ignore those as you patently cannot get to grips with my much repeated question but I will take a few of your points to task..

75,00 seats? Nope you havent got permission or space to increase for many years yet.
''better pitch''....pffft!! What the hell do you think we are going to lay?
''reminders all around the ground of your history''...haha how desperate does that sound?
'Comfy seats'' again...whats your point? Do you think we are installing buckets?
new stadium as opposed to revamp? Have you actually bothered to look at the plans?.........
Blimey Man 'dee' I know you are struggling here but at least TRY!

PS care to explain what you were doing down all those p*ssy alleyways?

This thread is about stadiums...try and remain on topic 'ManDee'......
Now I used the example of the Maracana to show you that bigger isnt necessarily better....Maracana currently holds 82K (it used to hold 200k).....is it 'better' than the Emirates?

This is not a thread about who has the better neighbourhood, better class of tramp or in Flabby case the hottest gay bars...this is about who will end up with the better stadium....want to try and tell me why yours will still be better?

no point in trying to wriggle out of it now Deepak.

    Not childish? Are you serious?...

''I believe building from scratch is more expensive in this current economic climate ''....no shit Einstien?

Your original post said we cannot afford it.....and you know better than Levy do you?

56,250k is just shy of 56k is it? oh dear back to the maths class for you!
Anyway I said better not bigger......Rio's Maracana holds considerably more than the Emirates yet is a crumbling wreck...who's got the better stadium you or them?

Got any facts to back up your dross about ours being half empty? And what has the surrounding are got to do with it?
I know you goons are not used to dealing with reality so I will give you one more chance to come up with a decent response to my statement that our stadium will be better than yours.
now make it good (which rules you out flabby)

Wrong AGAIN Deepak...this is the most important statement in the press release...
"It is only prudent and good management that we ensure that we investigate all possible options for the Club. We were informed by the Olympic Park Legacy Company that were we not to register an interest at this time, there would not be an opportunity at any future date.''

In other words..should plan A fail we have a plan B.

Kind of blows your original childish and inflammatory post out of the water doesnt it?

Transport for London (TfL) want Spurs to pay 3 million to upgrade Tottenham Hale station. Spurs have offered 2 million. Big Boris sits on the TfL steering panel.
Might have to 'work' on him a bit.

Once you've all stopped pulling your puds try reading the facts......which not only show we are staying where we belong but going to have a far better stadium than you.

Bizarre headlines this morning...'Spurs bid for Olympic Stadium'!!

As Dale says Haringay voted unanimously to back our new stadium last night. This now goes to the next stage...Boris gets his say. If Boris says no...then secretary of state calls it in and we could wait another year...if Boris he say yeeesssss....bulldozers move in in January.

There is absolutely no logical reason for Boris to reject this plan so the general feeling is positive on this front.

As for the olympic stadium proposal...the ONLY reason I can think of is that if Boris did have a sudden rush of blood and rejected our plans we would need to have a plan B in place.
My guess is the hammers have nothing to worry about and the olympic stadium is theirs.
