  • HARTLEPOOL UNITED 3
Frank Stamper 35', Dennis Johnson 53', Jackie Newton 65'
    MANCHESTER UNITED 4
Billy Whelan 9', 79', Johnny Berry 10', Tommy Taylor 30'

Pouring down, soaked to the skin and the best game ever for me. Sir Matt said it was one of the best.
H---1957. Not one foreign player on the pitch.

All's okay with me, Lotto, same with you I hope---can't say the same about Pools. None league football for the 1st time in a 100 years coming up.
Haven't bothered with the boards recently, anything interesting anywhere or same old.

One thing is certain, a very strange decision to let him go by Van Gaal, and so cheap at these days exorbitant prices. Could be a real #$%$ biter.

    Aaron----Leicester v Arsenal 31st Aug. Szcesny-Debuchy-Monreal-Flamini-Mertersaker-Koscieny-Sanchez- RAMSEY -Sanogo-Cazorla-Ozil. First 2 subs-Rosicky-Podolsky.
H---How did Ramsey sneak in there.

  • No disrespect to you Arsenal guys etc, a truly great club, but me and thousands like me now are becoming progressively bored stiff with all these overseas signings in the effort to buy instant success. I mean, I'm from the Newcastle area, and look at the Geordies team, it's spot the British player and win a coconut.
Manchester United, desperation millions--mainly Dutch. No wonder the England team are an absolute embarrassment. The situation's bad, getting rapidly worse. Thank the lord the lower divisions still retain a bit of identity in bringing young guys through because they have to to survive.
It's all about money, sponsorship, instant reaction media wise. I only hope Hartlepools stay in the league this season to keep me and Jeff Stelling happy.
    H---boring old fart.
