    It's a new broom

    by Green Aug 3, 2011 19:28

The 3 strikers are cheaper options and deemed good enough to do a job in the championship. Mouloungui is not an option now, Carew was never gonna be a big scorer at Stoke, they just don't play that way, he did ok for Villa and would do a good job in the championship, he's big decent header of the ball, holds it up well, decent passer and can use both feet, he be used as a replacement for Cole rather than play with him. Forsell is another that would do a job in the championship, he did a decent for Birmingham and will run beyond Cole. Villa haven't moved for Cole coz they are trying to cut back on their high wage bill, same reason they won't go for Scotty.

We'll see tomorrow how things line up and how we look as a unit....2-0 to the Hammers.....COYI

  • that's sweeping all the #$%$ out of UP. All the names i've been speaking about over the past few seasons have and are finally being cleared out.

Looking good so far, Boa Morte gone Spector gone, Gabbidon gone, Upson gone, Dyer gone. Just Cole, Green and Faubert to get rid of now and the Hammers are all set

    Nice work so far Sam.

  • Well it looks like things are finally coming together. 3 good points against the spuds, a good win against sunderland and a point against stoke. It (so far) looks like Mr Grant is making things happen as he said they would, the Hammers are getting stronger and better week on week and the green shoots of recovery are definately showing....Long may it continue.

  • I watched yesterdays game and on the whole the Hammers played not too bad apart from the usual suspects.
Upson, looked like a frightened rabbit caught in headlights.
    Cole, offside, offside, offside, offside.
Green, he may as well say at the side of me. He doesn't move for anything, made another world cup style howler. Mikel shot hit the frame of the goal, Green didn't move, Kalou swerving shot just past the post, Green didn't move a muscle, Essiens second goal, Green didn't come, didn't go toward the player to close it down, he just didn't move.
DROP GREEN and give the new keeper Boffin a shot, he can't do any worse. Tal Ben-Haim did ok, Jacobsen looks like a decent right back at last. Obinna looked lively and hopefully will score some goals this season. Parker played well,Dyer looked lively the rest were average.

Wrong! On both statements. when you get back to school, ask your teacher to teach you some facts. Both your statements are urban myths and neither is based on fact.

Not sure about Tal Ben Haim. He didn't want to stay at Chelsea when Grant took over as manager there and he's never really impressed me at any of his previous clubs. Time will tell I suppose.

  • Sort the defense out!!! Get rid of Upson and and that patheitc little yank Spector...Let us know how Ilunga is doing and get some strength and solidity into the defense. Surely you don't intend on keeping the same tossers that performed liked Sunday league players last season do you?
Keep Scotty Parker, its the #$%$ you need to get rid of, not our best.
Mr Gold, keep your mouth shut!! When you're asked about players availability, just say 'ask Mr Grant, he's our manager'

couldn't agree with you more, commentator and pundits talk #$%$ too, biggin him up saying 'he'll do better next game'....not if his performances at West Ham have anything to go, he played #$%$ most of the season.

My mistake, yeah youre right olas, well almost it would make 27 points but yeah i boobed there. However its just semantics, my point being imo Grant did a half decent job at pompey as he did at chelski and i believe he would do a decent job with the Hammers too.

Here we go, let's see what (other than glaring mistakes) Rob Green does with his 45 mins.

Well Bob, who do you suggest we bring in Jose mourinho? Grant had nothing to do with pompeys relegation, what he did there was all positive and all good as far as i'm aware, he did a half decent job at Chelski too and if he does become our manager, runner up in FA cup, second in prem and an excellent run in the following season CL would make me more than happy. Grant cant do any worse than we've had to suffer the past few seasons under Zola and before him Curbishley. So you tell me who would you prefer cos from what i've just read mate, you want a manager thats a proven winner and who's possibly available.

Safety Mr M, safety, the Hammers aint looking for safety, we aint sheff utd. West Ham aint the only club with debt old son and debt doesn't stop a football from aspiring to greater heights. All this #$%$ is the usual end of season garbage that never materialises into anything, its the same thing year in year out. And dont forget, this 'news' was first started i believe in the facking Sun, nuff said.

I can't believe i've just read that #$%$ Alison, are you a spuds fan on a wind up or what?
'We dont need Henry' If by 'we' you mean the Hammers, then 'we' wont be getting Henry.
Now, name the 3 squad players 'we' could buy for that kinda money?

  • And welcome to the prem.

Da costa is worth keeping IMO Behrami should go though, Faubert maybe keep him another season, see what he brings to the party. Now Grant has quit pompey, i hope he signs for the Hammers soon, I've liked and admired the way he goes about his job since his Chelski days and he did a cracking job at pompey in the short time he was there. It's gotta be said the Hammers aint gonna be signing any big names though (no shock there) but some players need to move on (Robert Green, Spector, Upson, Cole). I still think, even though now I'm saying keep Faubert, we should go for Steve Finnan, he'd drop nicely into the gap left by Behrami and (again) IMO make a better fist of it too..

I agree (mostly) Ironistic, I know Noble bleeds West Ham, so do I mate but i aint holding em back, I believe he does, he's ok even good at times but those times are few and far between, Faubert, again the same, shows class at times but not often enough, no consistancy and when thinhgs aren't going well for him on the pitch he appears to look for others to blame. Get the cash for him and get Finnan in. Cole, i agree fully with you, same goes for Ilan, defo keep Parker, keep Diamanti too, he shows good vision, works hard, great touch and wicked free kicks, the rest I'm with you all the way.

  • I hope we do get Avram Grant as manager, I hope he brings with him several of the current Portsmouth team too, including David James, Steve Finnan, Aaron Mokoena, Frédéric Piquionne and maybe Kevin Boateng. Big changes are needed at UP and its way past time the Hammers got rid of the dead wood.

Glad it made you smile 'the bridge'. Ironistic are you telling me to 'trot on'?....Jesus, I was only trying to lighten the mood a little.

  • I know, its a bit cheesey but hey someone had to say it.
