In the Chelsea v Blackpool game with score at 4-0 there was an obvious penalty to Chelsea in the dying seconds of the game. The referee indicated that he had seen the offence but the shrug of his shoulders said that due to the score it didn't matter. In the context of that game maybe but West Brom are currently equal on points and Goal difference to Blackpool for the second time since that game. Fast forward to the end of season and that goal could make a difference as to who is relegated. It's up to WBA to ensure they are not in that position and I am sure that they will. But how insignificant is that penalty in the context of the league table?
Exactly. We are English and British. I would favour "Land of Hope and Glory" for English games and anything but our current meaningless National Dirge for the British teams at the Olympics
As a Brummie I accept that following the great Commonwealth Games Manchester can now rightly call itself the second city. So come on Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle a little more effort and we can get London down from its current 3rd to maybe 4th 5th or 6th
At a recent televised athletics event at the NIA, Birmingham there were 2 posters saying "Support the London Bid" This was 2 posters more support than London gave to Birmingham for its 1992 Olympic bid.
This year the rest of the country has shown London what teamwork can achieve. Now we can all look forward to subsidising London with £10BN from our taxes.
