    Let's cash in on Suarez.........

    by A Yahoo! User Feb 13, 2012 09:09

I can't believe either the title of this thread or some of the comments on it. So now we're letting the agenda-driven London media tell us what we're going to do with our player are we? Or that whiskey sodden hypocritical old soak? Do we not trust Kenny enough to get Suarez back to his best? Shameful.....

....and what's this about Standard Chartered having problems? Are we letting the tail wag the dog now? Yes, this is a business but the buck stops with Kenny. Rafa fought with the management to allow him to do his job because he knew that no matter what the entries on the profit & loss accounts say, it's how successful the team is on the field that matters. I fully trust Kenny's managerial abilities to keep control of the whole squad, never mind Suarez, but he needs to be left to get on with his job....and we need to give that support to Suarez who needs it from us. Come on boys FFS!!!!

  • To say I'm absolutely shocked is an understatement. Heard he killed himself. So sad...

Ban Liverpool for 5 years as racist punishment

I'll assume that the tool who started this thread is a Skank Utd fan. In which case, how about a parliamentary investigation into the Skank's shameless manipulation of the media that excuses a history of a team thats littered with gross abuses of family values??

Not to mention Peter Schmichael calling Ian Wright a n**ger....

    Team to face Swansea?

    by Hobsey Oct 31, 2011 09:31

Here's my answer to my own question....

"If you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win!"

The frustrating thing about the team is it's so close to the real deal. Is the weight of playing for a club with the history & expectations of LFC too much for some players?

Alternatively, are the substitutions coming on early enough? Are the selections making the most of a squad that could be better exploited?

Or am I the latest to have fallen victim to the 'I want it all and I want it now' way of supporting a footy team??

Jason I can imagine it's a bit of a burden to try & dispute the notion of the unironic American.

I liken it to the story of the German gentleman who was cornered by the 'super soaraway' Scum snoozepaper about being in the UK when England beat Germany 5-1 in Germany (this was around the time of the last World Cup).

The poor guy was hearing how the UK would always remember that night, and the German gently responded by saying "Yes, I see the DVD is still selling in the shops!"

Btw, I was so caught up in getting my post written up that I completely failed to ask what this racism issue being mentioned in relation to myself is all about??

    Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks for your kind words buddy.

Interesting post-script to my post where Italy played Spain last night and Aquilani got the winner. His eye for a pass is superb and I just wonder what a team containing both Adam and Aquilani will bring to LFC. The mind bloody boggles!!!

    Gentlemen,
Many thanx for your kind words. I thought it was a fantastic article where the theme seemed to be 'Back to the Future'. A resumption of the rivalry between the two most successful clubs in British football history gets more mouth-watering the more I read it. The reason of course is the return of King Kenny. However, Colin, I'm sorry but you may disagree with my next point

Our new and esteemed owners have placed their faith in the 'Moneyball' system of statistics to bring essential talent to LFC. This is coupled with an emphasis on bringing out and nurturing the best local and foreign youth we can find. In this matter, absolutely NO WAY would we have been in the position we are now without the input of Rafa Benitez. His reputation brought not only the cream of foreign youth talent to us (can't wait to see Sterling, Suso and Silva strut their stuff in the side - not a bad bit of alliteration if I do say so myself!) but the small matter of Rodolfo Borell and Pep Seguro who, after bringing the likes of Messi & Fabregas to prominence, had the pick of Europe's top clubs chasing for their signatures. However they came to LFC and are now developing the next generation of Redmen for King Kenny to include as real potential in his squad.

I cannot overemphasise just how important Rafa's role was in all of this. He is rightly lauded for giving us the magic of The Miracle, Number 1 Team in Europe status, bringing us sooo close to our 19th title but also for standing up to those miserable, twisted, money-hungry Rednecks who would have dragged this world-reknowned club to the bottom of the heap. We were practically there when they sacked Rafa and brought in the hopelessly out of his depth Hodgson, and all he brought to the table were insults to our intelligence and to Rafa for having players like Agger and Aquilani in the side - say what you will about their injury records, the FACT is they make things happen!! Rafa found both of them but if he had the money to spend on this type of talent, instead of cheap or free rejects...I can only dream...

BUT!! Onwards and upwards. I merely made my point to outline that LFC is a lot healthier in the background, where it counts & where our owners are looking, because of Rafa Benitez. He is a true Redman, but if you don't want to take my word for it please look at Brian Reade's 'An Epic Swindle' about how we came soooo close to extinction.

King Kenny is our past, present and now our future but I tip my hat off to our recent past. Many who hated Rafa should look at the talent streaming out of our revamped Academy and perhaps find it in their hearts to do the same...

    Respect, YNWA

  • Calling all MUFC supporters,

I'm a Liverpool supporter and I just want to put this notice up to give huge respect to the various supporters from a variety of different clubs - especially Sunderland, Cardiff City, Everton, Man Utd, Chelsea, Celtic, Rangers, Swansea to name but a few - who started groups on Facebook calling for Justice for The 96.

My mate Graham started the Cardiff City one (which he had to, given he supports both Cardiff & Everton) and we've been putting on notes and links as much as we could. However we would like as many of you and your friends to visit the various sites (especially the Man Utd one) to leave messages of support. The link is as follows:

    https://www.facebook.com/pages/Manchester-United-wants-JFT-96/214118318626215

I know some of you might approach this with some caution, understandably given the 'Munich' song that has done the rounds (personally I have never heard the words, but have never sought them out either). However the MUFC page was set up by a MUFC supporter in good faith and I'm just hoping that we'll get enough people leaving messages of support who are all of the same mind.

Believe me your support will be massively appreciated. There are pages dedicated to the Busby Babes from fellow LFC supporters who, like me and many others, know when to draw the line between simple banter & hurtful comments.

    Much respect,
    Imran

    Hi Robert,

I guess it would be an official apology from the British government and from South Yorkshire police for their deceit & fraudulent behaviour in besmirching the names of Liverpool football fans. I can’t speak for the likes of Anne Williams who never had a satisfactory explanation for why, despite the coroner’s insistence that no one was alive past the 3:15 mark, her son Kevin was witnessed by two police officers murmuring the word “Mum” while seemingly in a coma / on the way to expiration. The two officers since retracted their statements, possibly after pressure from their superior officers – although, if you are of a mind to do so, Professor Phil Scraton’s book ‘Hillsborough – The Truth’ is an excellent, forensically researched but harrowing read (especially the early testimonies from survivors).

    Paul/Jason,

Much appreciated guys. The link for the Cardiff City page is:

    http://touch.facebook.com/?refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Ftouch.facebook.com%2Fauth.php&m_sess=Z54qk-qH2Ql9w7&_rdr#!https://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo&refid=17%23!/pages/Cardiff-City-FC-fans-want-justice-for-the-96/22174062118122

Anne Williams lost her son, Kevin, at Hillsborough and has been trying to get answers from an increasingly obstructive judicial system about what happened to Kevin. She told me she'll put a message on the Cardiff page but really it's just about making this as big a campaign, with as many following all the pages, as possible. Please spread the word.

    Much respect. JFT96
