    Fantastic result. Well done!!

  • Anyone heard if it's true?
It was mentioned on MOTD and in a few newspapers this morning but I can't find anything definitive.

    Lionel Messi

    by Joe Apr 3, 2012 22:20

Messi has been likened to a young Tom Finney by those who have seen them both play, but I doubt if the younger generation on here have even heard of him despite being regarded as one of the best of his generation.
Messi is one of the best around at the moment, (although Ronaldo is scoring more goals and winning more matches), but George Best was still technically superior even playing on infinitely worse pitches with a heavier ball.

  • This might seem a little odd, but as a life long Manchester United supporter, I wish you every success tonight and would love it if you win the final, especially if you beat Barcelona!
Obviously I would prefer United to be fighting for it, but we weren't good enough this year especially with all the injuries.
I'm proud an English team is still represented in the competition and would hope all decent English football supporters would also be cheering you on.

Someone needs to learn to distinguish FACTS from their bigoted OPINIONS.
It's my opinion that you're a thick tw4t but it is a fact that Manchester United, unlike Arsenal, are the current Premier League Champions.
Try Googling 'FACT' and educate yourself. –(SUGGESTION).

I love watching Arsenal with their slick passing and disguised flicks. There is no team better in EPL at this, however that does NOT mean you 'outplayed' anyone. You were suckered by Manchester United and Manchester City; they allowed you to look pretty and pass the ball around then had the timerity to score more goals than you! You were outplayed, SIMPLES!

    Schumacher's Return

    by A Yahoo! User Aug 4, 2009 23:46

I totally agree Muzzy, MS was instrumental in developing the car into "the winner it was", as he did with every team he has driven for. He would never have won so many world championships without this talent. As for LH NEVER winning 7 world championships, let's wait the 12 years before writing him off but his average so far is better than MS.
    Year 1 MS 12th LH 2nd
    Year 2 MS 3rd LH 1st
Year 3 MS 4th LH (8th at present)

    Schumacher's Return

    by A Yahoo! User Aug 4, 2009 23:46

When MS drove arguably the best car, he won a lot of races; (occasionally at the expense of his own team mate who had to follow orders to let him past). When up against cars of similar performance, he was much more ordinary, although he would use any means at his disposal (fair and unfair) to ensure a win. However, his own personal performance had dropped off significantly before he retired, which added to the fact that he will be racing against several superior cars, leaves him with an uphill struggle.
I hope that he will be competitive, but I really don't feel he will be able to challenge the Red Bull and Brawn cars or LH's superior ability.

    The Rafa Debate

    by Bob Feb 25, 2009 01:14

    Well put comments.
I'm a manc but have to say, in all honesty, Liverpool are finally getting there and beginning to push us and that has to be down to the manager. Each year you improve in the EPL, each year you EXPECT to do well in CL and you even had the cheek to beat us in our last few games!
You have done this with a fairly average team which has two or three excellent players; not a team of superstars. OK the football style is a little dull and Rafa's ultra defensive approach has cost you at times, but maybe his hands are tied little because of a lack of talent on the field.
Your fans are fantastic, the history of the club is fantastic and with a few more players like Torres, you will become a fantastic club once again.
    But not quite yet!!

Funny? That isn't humour, it's sick!
I can't believe that any decent Liverpool supporter would condone this kind of deceit. It just goes to show how low some people can sink to in their desperation to try and 'get one over' on a Manchester United supporter. I have a huge respect for the passion and pride that scousers show for their football team, but this warped trick is nothing to do with football and has no place on this message board.

    STYLE...does it matter ?

    by colin Jan 22, 2009 02:13
    James James Jan 24, 2009 05:45 Flag

Hope I'm allowed to post on here as a United fan (born, bred and lived there for forty odd years)?

    Yes it does matter!!!!

For United to lose the Premiership to a Liverpool that can grind out boring results would be difficult to take, (i.e. now), but to a Liverpool with style and flair would be less so. Everyone can grudgingly admire brilliance wether it is Henry, Kaka, Ronaldo, Torres etc. etc. so if you're going to do it, do it in style, with finesse!

    UNFAIR ADVANTAGE handed to MU

    by A Yahoo! User Jan 24, 2009 02:01
    James James Jan 24, 2009 05:32 Flag

Don't blame United for a a situation created purely by Sky for commercial reasons. Wether or not United have any advantage is debatable and highly subjective. If it worked out (or does so over the next month), in Arsenal or Liverpool's apparent favour, would you still complain?
    I doubt it.

"It is not Manchester United's fault, it is not Liverpool's fault. It is the organisation of the fixtures," Wenger said.

16th world title to Ferrari wow

    by MDNC Nov 3, 2008 03:19

You are quite right, the Ferrari was the better car again this season. That just makes Lewis' World Championship all the more impressive.
Well done Lewis for winning it with an uncompetetive car.

    Good comment dabblersdesigns.
I suppose it's like the fact that women drivers have far less accidents than their male counterparts, yet can't seem to produce the goods when it comes to competitive racing. Maybe the safest drivers don't necessrily make the best racing drivers.

Why be jealous? I enjoy watching any decent F1 driver. Alonso is a good driver, but so is Hamilton. Obviously it's YOU that can't bear the thought that maybe Hamilton is better than Alonso! If he is, he is. If he's not, he's not. So what's your problem? It's bad enough with Alonso behaving like a cry baby, but when his fans do too, it is laughable.

Well Mr. "I Like Alonso" what would you like to know then?
Now that Hamilton can't 'copy' Alonso as you put it, he seems to be completely out-driving him. Hamilton was easily the best driver of the last two races.
Could you remind me what positions did Alonso finish?

Bit of a sweeping statement there about you hating man united fans. You must have been busy getting to know them all before you made up your mind!
I must agree with you about the ex-assistant manager though. He was never good enough in his job as assistant manager, never did much as a club manager and then continued in the same manner as England manager. Totally mediocre and with confidence issues regarding his own ability.
