I believe that the Suarez thing was a tactic to try and get Real moving with Higuain.
Many reasons as to why I believe that but 1) likely price (30mill!? lol and everyone in football is loling) 2) Suarez's attitude. I dont think there is a less Wengerish player in the whole of European football. We are now waiting on Real finding a suitable replacement for Higuain. As soon as they do that, Higuain will be in Arsenal colours. Hopefully Ancelotti is not REALLY wanting him and is open to him moving.

Real are trying to get interest from other teams so as to increase the money they get for him. So far it has been Juve and Arsenal only who have made enquiries. Juve went the Tevez route. Currently Arsenal have the power in this situ. They should not pander to Reals manouverings. Why should they? #$%$ Sit it out and see if Real can start the bidding war they want. If they cant arsenal will be laughing and Real will look silly. Unless there is a possibility you may lose out on your first choice then why pay extra!!?

If you believe Perez...I dont believe anyone anymore. Yet there is obviously something serious going on between Arsenal and Higuain. Maybe its true that Real have not yet received an offer? Its all tactics and poker in these big ego wars. Pathetic really

The Suarez bid is insulting to our intelligence because not one bit of the article adds up as to being genuine. Ok 1 bit does...Wenger offering at least 10 million less for a players going rate...that I could believe, yet the rest of the article doesnt add up at all.

not at all. I like balance I like opinions based on things that are not either black and white, because nothing is...I am yet to hear anything positive come from your writing about Arsenal. Thus not balanced in the slightest.

You're right, I just had a look at it and it seems a very fair minded blog. Decently written, nicely balanced. Shame you cant take a leaf out of the bloggers book?
Arshavin Squllaci and Denilson have all left.
Djourou and Coquelin are now out on loan for the year.
Park will be released by the end of this month...apparently
Only Bendtner and Chamakh left to go and we would have managed to clear out ALL our deadwood in one summer! Something I never thought would have been possible. So far so good for Arsenal. Still there are question marks about Gervinhio and Bendtner.
Gervinhio is debatable as to being deadwood. I still think he is a decent squad player but I also think he should probably head off elsewhere for him and for us. Maybe he will get one more season to step up?
Bendtner to Frankfurt does seem very possible although I have read that there is stumbling block on wages...sheesh! Hope Arsenal learn to redistribute wages accordingly. But so far...so pretty good for Arsenal.
Now just to get in the important players needed to strengthen. 4 players CF,DMF,CB, GK would do us a world of good, provide quality competition, provide a much better balance and with 4 replacing 6 or 7 players would provide chances for some of our younger players aswell. Bellarin has just signed a long term contract so he is obviously in Wengers mind for the future. Hopefully Coquelin will return for next season but we will have to wait and see how his loan works out. If we strengthen in the right places and with respectable quality I will be a very happy Gunner come August. Fingers crossed the Higuain deal will be officially announced soon then at least we can move on for the others.

l Cant call it. Obviously Suarez's talent would be a fantastic asset, he is a great player, I just wouldnt want my club to be associated with him. Higuain, Jovetic Rooney then Suarez would be my order of preference in terms of the big name Forwards we have been linked with. Suarez and Rooney I assume would probably both do better than Jovetic but I would prefer someone fresh than the baggage those two come with.
With you in regard to our buying though.
CF, DMF, CB and GK. Higuain, Capoue, someone and Ceasar. Job done shut the window and lets get on with the season.

I dont disagree with your assessment there but Baines has been at Everton for years now. Performed consistently very well for years now. All Utd need to do is unsettle him with a real offer of interest and intent and that can pay dividends for them helping keep the cost low. ITs a tactic that has been employed many times and has been successful for the buying club many times. Its life in football. I wouldnt personally wouldnt pay over 18-20 for B

Actually I think Baines is worth between 12 - 15 mill. His age counts against him. He may be Everton's main man...but he plays for Everton. That counts against them. Sad as it is but the smaller teams will always be rail roaded because the bigger teams know that the player will want to move so just need to offer something and said player will be obviously unsettled. Will be interesting to see how this ends up. Almost guaranteed Everton will not get more than 15 for him. Shame but true. Smaller teams have very little to stand on and will rarely get similar value that bigger teams would for their best players. If Baines was at Utd and being similarly influential for Utd, Chelsea came calling, Baines would be a 20+mill player no doubt.

If we buy Higuain I would expect that to be our biggest signing. I dont expect a player worth more to come. Afterall we supposidly have 70 odd mill to spend. 25 gone on one player that leaves. 50 mill. We still need a GK, DMF and CB. 50 mill split between 3 other players would do the job well.

God Gunner your initial post is just pish!!
Interest means just that...interest. Every manager probably has "interest" in 50 odd players every summer but that word means very little other than a manger likes a player. Its not serious nor does it mean the manager wants that guy until they actually put in a bid, actually try to sign the guy. We all know this because we all take a big interest in footy so why are you trying to convince people on here something based on nothing and nothing that we all know is nothing?
At least use logic and fact to back up your bleak picture of Arsenal. Not spurious nonsense made up by papers based on flimsy evidence and "interest" lol.
Logic tells us we do not need a LB. Fact is Wenger has not bid for Mendy. THese details show up your initial post to be nothing but a fishing line with #$%$ as the bait.
- Radge2def Radge2def Jun 20, 2013 19:26 Flag
seriously though he does look good but hes too young for what we actually need right now? Or thats my thoughts on him. Hes had a good season and good U21's. I would want to see a bit more from him before committing...but then again timing can be everything when signing players. wait too long and someone else gets them, shoot your bolt and you may end up with a duffer.

If Sagna extends then I see it as a bonus. He wasnt great last year but he still has experience and has been a great defender in the past and can still be perfectly competant to do a job that we need done. I would expect to see much more of Jenkinson though next season. Sagna would probably get the nod for the bigger league games and CL games, but Jenkinson I reckon will be given plenty opportunities to show his worth and so could easily nail 1st team.
Higuain is my 1st choice out of all the names being bandied around. Still wary as to whether Wenger will spend as much, but 150k wages is pie in the sky. They guy is only on 70K at Real, offer him 100 or just over and I would expect him to sign.
