    AVB - Lucky or good...or bad...or

    by Jlock May 5, 2013 09:11

Well, Spurs often seem to up their game against bigger teams, only to raise our expectations and then dash them with poor performances against teams that we all think we should beat easily. I could see us beating Chelsea and then losing one of our last two games. Who knows, anything could happen. It should be a great game on Wednesday though. Let's hope AVB gets the players fired up and has something to prove against the team that treated him so unfairly.

Had we beaten Liverpool and Fulham we might not be in this situation, but it does make for an exiting, tense finish.

    Suarez...

    by Jlock Apr 23, 2013 10:37

Suarez has done more than enough to warrant being sacked in any other profession, but let's face it, as long as he's scoring and creating goals I can't imagine the kind of depraved act he'd have to commit to actually be sacked as a footballer. At least Ajax immediately got rid of him when it happened there. Maybe it goes to show how low Liverpool have fallen, that they see this type of player as indispensable. I personally would be embarrassed if he played for my team, I don't care how many goals he scores or how good of a player he is, and to me it says a lot about the fans when they defend him. Why is it that there are so many cavemen types among the ranks of football players and supporters?

I know, I know, all the Liverpool Suarez defenders will say, "What about Defoe? What about Defoe?" If you look at the Defoe incident I don't think there's much similarity. Defoe's bite was stupid no doubt, but looked totally harmless. The ref was standing right there for God's sake, and thought it only warranted a yellow card. This Suarez bite looked far more vicious, and the last time it happened at Ajax he drew blood if I'm not mistaken. And with Defoe it was one isolated incident. With Suarez it's a pattern of behavior that's repeated over and over and over again. When we played Liverpool last I saw several Spurs players who don't normally lose their cool starting to get riled up, and it was always related to Suarez. To me he's just a disgrace and Liverpool's image is continually tarnished as long as he plays there. By the way, there are plenty of other Premier League players who are also shameless and despicable who I'd be embarrassed to have on my team, Rooney and Terry immediately come to mind.

    Lewis Holtby is bad buy

    by north Apr 5, 2013 17:38

The first few games I saw him play for Spurs I thought he showed promise. He had some very nice touches and passes. The last few games he has seemed a bit lost, but I also believe he will prove to be a good buy in time. COYS

    Motormouth at it again

    by longtimespur Apr 4, 2013 15:54

Great article. thanks. Is there any real evidence the FA were ever seriously considering Redknapp for England manager? It seems he himself was the one talking it up more than anyone else. And now he says he was surprised to be sacked by Spurs, well he shouldn't have been.

    europas ruined our season

    by A Yahoo! User Apr 4, 2013 23:20

Last year Redknapp didn't take the Europa seriously at all, which I was very disappointed with, and we still didn't make Champion's league, although through some unlucky circumstances. But we should have managed third given the points lead we had. I'm glad AVB is actually going for it in Europa. Other players could step up. All is not necessarily lost. COYS!!

yeah, Spurs had some decent seasons under Redknapp but I'm also glad he's gone. Now he's saying he would refuse the job of England manager if he were offered it. Has he been offered the job then or what? stop talking nonsense Harry.

    Today's game - Swansea

    by Jlock Mar 30, 2013 10:28

Nicking 5th??? What a ridiculous comment. Clearly not a Spurs fan. I'm not at all worried about Liverpool, not really worried about Everton. Arsenal look like they will finish strong though. It will be a tough run in but I think Spurs can hang in there for 3rd or 4th.

Good game today and good performance from Southampton too! I'd love to see Chelsea finish out of the top four again. They were way too lucky to win champion's league last season. They shouldn't have even been there this season.

    Spurs V Inter 2nd Leg

    by Joe Mar 12, 2013 20:44

Well, we were awful against Inter and still managed to get through. Let's hope this game will be a wake up call. I still think we've got a shot at winning the Europa League and finishing top 4 in the premier but they've gotta step it up. We weren't bad against Liverpool but 2 mistakes cost us the game. Let's hope we don't throw it all away again this season. COYS!!!

    Spurs V Inter 2nd Leg

    by Joe Mar 12, 2013 20:44

Agreed. Aside from being in the right place at the right time to score in extra time, he spent most of the game walking around the pitch. He should've actually scored at the end of the first half to put the game out of reach when he was gifted a great chance.

Please get rid of him and bring in a proper striker!!
