  • 1st off I'm a Norwich fan so I know a thing or 2 about losing, but I feel sorry for Moyes, he's inherited the weakest Utd team in 20 years, & a small number of deluded fans are having a go at him for it, apart from Rooney, RvP, Vidic, Evra & De Gea, could you honestly see any other Utd player getting into the Man City, Chelsea, or Arsenal 1st eleven? I can't, even Everton, Spurs, & Liverpool have a stronger 1st eleven as a team than Utd.

Now I know the usual argument will come from those deluded few, but seriously people, Utd are just about where they should be imo, missing RvP, & Rooney is a massive blow, No Scholes,or Scholes type player in mf, & it says something when 1 of your best players is 40 years old.

I didn't expect anything different from Utd this season, new manager, he has to get them playing his football, he has to figure out his best players, who he would like to keep, & where he has to strengthen, & any money spent on players for the sake of it in the summer, & now, would be money wasted & lets be honest he will have to spend a good £120M+ to build a team as strong as Arsenal, Chelsea, & especially City, let alone a squad as good as them.

I expect big movement from Utd in the summer, I can see no less than 5 top players arriving, Fergie knew he wouldn't be able to squeeze another title out of this team, & did the smart thing, Moyes is in a transition season, & can build his team how he wants to, the difference with Mourinho, & Pelagrini is they have inherited a ready made team, & Wenger has built his for the last few seasons.
So stop the delusional we should be winning mentality, get behind your team, & realise that 4th place this season would be an achievement.

By Dean Pakes, a Norwich City fan.

    -----------------------------------------

[MCMXCIX] - what I would like to add is all Man U fans should look at the whole picture, Fergie did leave behind an average squad bereft of creativity in the middle of the park. Your defence is awful too....

    You ain't seeing double, Baldrick.

Indeed, Man U are 7th in the table and the bookies' favourite for Europa League spot.

I hope they give Moyes the time he needed to complete the job.
    ;)

I've been very impressed with Vito's displays since he joined the Black Cats.

I hope we have some sort of clause in his contract to buy-back in future if he turns out to be the 'real deal'.

Well done Mannone and Sunderland, Good luck in the final...

FA Cup 4th Round tie....... Man City vs Watford:

TEAMS: Man City: Pantilimon, Richards, Demichelis, Lescott, Kolarov, Jesus Navas, Toure, Rodwell, Lopes, Dzeko, Aguero. Subs: Hart, Kompany, Zabaleta, Clichy, Fernandinho, Nastasic, Jovetic.

That looks like City fielded a very strong side, Rikki, against the Championship bottom table side Watford too. So Wenger isn't alone in not under-rating opponents.

Here's hoping that David Moyes won't take whichever side your MIDTABLE fodder are drawn to play in the FAC Fourth round tie lightly on Sunday, or else your bunch of LOSERS will be sent packing early in this season's FA Cup competition.

My mistake. Indeed, they were embarrassed by the struggling Swansea side.

Just goes to show, it proves what most of us have known in the last few years that Man U are an average side and the main reasons they were on top then was due to the dubious decisions that they always get from the officials.

Fergie now GONE, refs unafraid to do their job and the same group of players are being shown up as the pathetic, average MIDTABLE fodder we all know they are.

Talking about 'Man U', I checked the table after yesterday's Premier League matches and was very shocked that they are still rooted in 7th place below Everton.

I honestly was expecting them to move up the table a couple of places thanks to a rare win in 2014 at OT.

@ Rikki, where do you still Man U finishing in the table this season? I personally think Man U have got an almighty battle on the hand with Spurs for the last Europa League spots, but you never know with the luck of Man U, City could let them in into Europe through the back door by winning the Capital One Cup.

  • I'm surprised that many people aren't asking questions about their high pressing tactics game in game out and to think that they do that for 90 minutes every match is amazing. But where do they get their energy from?, as they don't seem to get tired playing that way. Normally, you would expect a team who play the way the Saints do in the first half to be gasping for breathe in the second period but not Southampton as they seem to be going from strength to strength which is weird.

I'd like to hear the opinion of any budding Sports Scientist out there on this issue.

" if we got rid of Cleverley, Young, Valencia, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, Fletcher and Evans" ?????

WHY would you want to do that, Rikk?

Are we playing Championship Manager here?

I can fully understand the argument in getting rid of the useless Cleverley, the over-rated Evans who always have a nightmare against decent forwards, the aging Rio and the diving cheat Young. But there's no need to throw the baby out with the bath water which is essentially what you're trying to do here with that cull. Vidic, Fletcher, and Evra can still do a job for Man U despite the fact that they are getting on a bit, I'd still retain the trio in the squad due to their vast experience at the top level. They can still play a key role in helping the likes of Januzag, Zaha, and other inexperienced players develop the steelness and winning mentality needed to succeed at the top level, you can't buy that.

With Ramsey now out injured for up to 6 weeks (confirmed this morning), anyone but Klose would do for me. Draxler would be an excellent signing tho.

This is interesting, Wenger is being quoted as saying that he's 80% certain that Arsenal are going to sign a midfielder today, but who?

"if we beat Liverpool at home, and Everton away" ?

Rikki, lets assume Man U defeated the two Mersey sides, but all other things being equal, I still think Man U would fall short of top 4 placing due to the superior goals difference by Liverpool. With the form SAS are in right now, the goals difference is going to get larger by the game, not shorter.

Apparently, his release clause expired last season according to Schalke's GM.

My main concern with Klose is he's too slow and I think that would be an hindrance for him against Premier League defenders, I'd prefer to see more of the inexperienced youngster Sanogo than Klose in our side, additionally Bendtner is also available who knows the league inside out.

A few shady deals going on, John.

Fulham flop Adel Taarabt and Chelsea's bench-warmer Essien heading to the San Siro to attempt to save their flagging season. How the mighty have fallen.

I hope Wenger has learned his lessons on Scillacci- type signings as Kim could turn out to be a poor signing for us, don't think any of our fans would be exciting about this.

He's played 8 times and scored 1 goal for Spartak this season (2013-14) according to his page on ESPN Sports, although the above appearances could be Substitute appearances in the 90TH minutes just to run down the clock for his team., lol!

What has Wenger got himself into? I hope Kim fails his medical if this is true. We don't need another potential figure of ridicule in our squad.

No other choice but to give our full support to Kallstrom now as he's one of our players.

What a great result for them in their relegation battle.

I thought at the time that it was a daft decision by them to get rid of the hoofball tactician Pulis, but not on this performance by Sparky's 'pass masters', lol.

A well deserved 3 points for them against a very strong Man U side including Mata, Rooney, RVP, De Gea, Carrick and Chicaritos.

Who did best in the transfer window?

Hi Rikki, I'd have said before Man U's match vs Stoke that Man U did best in the transfer window. But Mata didn't turn up today or justify his club record fees, Man U can't afford it especially with Liverpool in the form of their lives. No wonder Mourinhno didn't believe his luck when Moyes offered £37.5m for a Chelsea's bench-warmer. I think the problem for Moyes is it 's counter-productive to accommodate both Mata and Rooney in the same starting 11, one of them (Mata or Rooney) has to sit on the bench for the good of the side.

Back to the topic, it has to be Sunderland for me. I think Poyet did some great business this window which would stand them in good stead at the business end of the season.

*** ''Who the hell would want your support MCMXCIX(what's that spell. PRICK?), when all you can do is pick bl..dy holes in everything Arsenal(except when we are winning). '' *** ???

This is new territory for me, Baldrick.

I've been accused in the past of supporting Lord Wenger steadfastly on this same forum and for being ''a Wenger sheep'' by the doom and gloom merchants, this is at a time when the team were struggling badly for form one reason or another.

You are barking up the wrong tree, Baldrick.

Moyes' Man U are breaking all sorts of records this season, and they aren't the ones he'd be proud of. If you're a Man U fan, look away now:
    - most defeats in a season since the advent of the EPL,
    - the most expensive bench-warmer bought in football history,
    - the first Man U manager to be beaten by a Charlie Adam's 'worldy', lol.
    - etc, etc.
As they say, when it rains, it pours.
