    THANK YOU VERY MUCH.....................

    by A Yahoo! User Aug 17, 2008 03:00

How much of KP leaving was anything to do with Mowbray?
It's all the man behind the scenes, and while he has finally given the manager a fund to buy new talent worthy of the promotion, he couldn't dig a little deeper for Gera and KP's wages?

Up as Champions! doesn't get much better for a club like ours. Deserved the FA cup final too, don't care. Come on you baggies!
Peace give Mowbs some money to spend! Theres no moment too sweet to not give Peace some stick, heheh. Lets stay up in style!

    Miracle Man Mowbray

    by Paul C Apr 24, 2008 17:21

    Re: Peace.

If a man owns an investment company which owns a club who owns the club?
Past evidence has shown he has never provided significant funds for transfers, in January in particular, okay more goes on wages for "seasoned" pro's so he factors that in which is financially reassuring although frustrating.

    Re: Kiely
A 3rd keeper is a luxury, can we afford that with the other areas which need attention. I'd say Danek out based on your opinion and the fact he isnt worthy to grace the bench. Plus I saw Kiely come and claim a ball last week, maybe its a new feature of his game.

    Re: Mowbray
Still no complaints with him personally, he manages the squad well, has chosen some good players, gets the team playing passing (real) football. Devils advocate, some might say over elaborate football, and a tendancy to be occasionally late with subs? Though I am certainly not complaining.

Hopefully a win on Monday, whether or not Hull lose and maybe a cup to celebrate with? Not celebrating til I see it with my own 2 eyes.

    Champions?

    by Paul C Dec 17, 2007 20:52

I think we could come top but nothing is certain, would like to see a player or two out of the squad (Hartson and Wallwork look favourites) and maybe a couple of younger players for next season and the one after that. I guess thats what Sergill's been signed for but he's 23, youngish I guess.

    England manager

    by Clive Nov 23, 2007 04:39

Mourinho big ego would be the best to control the bigger egos in the England "team". He's cocky and arrogant but he gets results and has passion. The players respect him and would listen & play for him. Mouriniho all the way, the chances we'll get him... well I won't hold my breath.

    Unofficial site for the Baggies

    by Clive Nov 6, 2007 05:20

I used that site to contact a couple of baggies over here in Japan to see if they knew any way of watching the playoffs. Pretty good, also when we discussed shares I checked my facts of there. Good site.

    Gera

    by IAIN Nov 1, 2007 03:50

If we aren't careful we'll end up on the coaching staff...I'd negotiate on the basis of free season tickets and travel.

I listened to the whole match on Sat (til 2am local time) and Morrisson who I hadn't heard much about seems a good attacking minded midfielder, much like Gera; Who performed admirably.

I think he will rotate the squad I doubt he will stick with the same 4. I hope Gera stays on for a couple more games so that he decides to sign the new contract. If I made 1 change I would rotate Greening and T-Rex for the next match.

I think that he doesn't get played enough, Koren right wing T-rex on the left Gera and Greening through the middle.
Morrison I don't know much about he hasn't featured much in the audio commentry I had chance to listen to so far but he seems to play a lot more than Gera...

    WBA up for sale

    by Will Oct 19, 2007 11:49

I'd like all 3 to come together and invest everything they have spare. Even if they played a benefit at the club it'd be great to see their support up front.

  • Anyone else worried about this? I thought it might happen and said Peace was buying up shares for his own benefit. Frank Skinner to buy the club?

Nice to hear that the away fans do us a credit. Wish we had won we didn't play too well and probably didn't deserve a result in that match, Koren was furious when we conceeded the third.

Good work fans, I wish I could come and watch a match I am so jealous of the local who get to watch.

    Same old story.

    by Will Sep 19, 2007 12:00

True, and after last weeks away performances our away league position must have improved. Scunny was a great away result. Good battling.

I understand now that although Peace is the chairman and also appointed by the company which owns WBA he owns the company so who else would they appoint but him. Just means he is not personally liable and the ltd company is.

    OH HAPPY DAYS!!!!!!

    by Paul C Aug 30, 2007 18:42

I really didn't think I would be happy to lose a player who was a pricy signing, but I cheered out loud thank god. I don't know about the guy who Melton wants to sign as a replacement but he can't be worse than old Duff Ellington.

  • What does everyone think of the fact we have made 12 new signings this summer when perhaps 5 of the best would have been a more influential on the pitch??

  • 12 + summer transfers! Never saw that coming, anyone else wish we had 5 real quality signings and a couple of makeweights instead of quite a mixed but very large bag?

    Why WBA?

    by Paul C Aug 22, 2007 17:09

    Good question!
I don't think that Sheffield Wednesday or Nottingham Forrest automatically have wantaways. Industrial cities with similar great heritage.
I do think that we are seen as a club that should do well and have underachieved so there is extra pressure.
I think the location has a lot to do with it; I can give you a job where you get paid thousands a week and have everything you want and live in either Wilmslow/Alderley Edge (where Manchester teams live), North London or Little Aston/Streetly. Which is where I believe the local players tend to live? You choose.
Ishmael Miller is the new Kieron Richardson, will play well but for ulterior motives and probably won't stay.

A Loan leading to a move or maybe back to the baggies seems like a excellent idea, so we can cash in later a bit like Kusack (excuse spelling). I think that the management won't like that idea though because they see him as one of our top defenders and they wont want to lend out someone we could use in our first team.

  • Ok now the dust hasz settled, blame the playoff final defeat on one person, with reasons.

I go with Sodje his lack lustre defending in that match and lack of willingness to get back to put pressure on the cross or the shot is what cost us the goal which kept us down. His up and down commitment has kept us in matches and out of the premiership at different times.

Maybe if he were a permanent signing he would play better, maybe.
