    modric....bad news

    by DEREK W Aug 30, 2009 17:37

main difference being, huttons mistake in dealing with the problem vs brum was it cost a goal.

if you watch a clip of the goal, you will see that hutton had more than enough time to deal with the problem properly, and should've done, even allowing for the fact cudicini was late off of his line.

charlie is a little slow i agree, but his technical ability makes up for it, hutton imo gets caught oop too easily, probably why 'arry prefers corluka.

corluka last season was very reliable and consistent, be interesting to see what happens now we've naughton as well.

hutton should've cleared the danger, he was in the best position to tell if the ball would've carried to cudicini and should've cleared the ball, imo that was what was on cudicinis mind as well, did you see the bollocking he gave hutton?

    Modric replacement

    by Sfer Sep 1, 2009 16:53

petrov will be a good signing if he can stay fit, brings more balance to the left, and scores goals, his first season at citeh was excellent, then he was injured.

krankjar, although a right footed player can play on the left and is a very similar player to modric, with epl experience, therefore a natural replacement, plus he scores a lot of goals for a midfield player and is also a box to box player ;-)

    Refs, Bad Decisions and Cheating

there is only one sensible answer to it all, bring in video technology as they have in rugby and cricket, it works more than adequately in both these sports, you can't say football would in any way suffer as a result, it could only be of benefit ;-)

    Farewell... for now!

    by A Yahoo! User Apr 29, 2009 04:37

it would appear that most of our regular posters are getting pissed off on this board with some of the morons that are infesting it at the moment, shame that a few cretins are driving people away from what is without doubt one of the best boards on here, whu being in there as well, hence the gentlemans club set up.

i personally don't get much time anymore to post much, every few days or so, but even then you have to wade through so much bile and idiotic rubbish from people that obviously have a mental age the same as their shoesize.

so i can fully understand your feelings mike, but like the saying goes, 'don't let the b.....d's grind you down!' ;-)

yep alan we do indeed all have different views, but, and here's the thing that pmo, you replied to my post that i was advocating a defensive game, which i clearly wasn't, i was stating facts as they were, your 'view' imo, was a contradiction to what was meant, and a petty attempt at a windup, a few others, both on this board and others, have noticed this about some of your posts.

by the way, i've checked the pub side message board, and you know what, surprise surprise, i didn't find any posting from you! strange that isn't it? ;-)

ah brown ale! so you follow a pub team alan, all is now clear regarding the 'go for it' remark.

got to ask, but did you actually read my post properly? clearly you didn't or you didn't understand what was meant.

in that case i shall explain it for you......i'll type really slowly so you can follow.................

i said, our defence was looking good, as is our midfield, the only problem for us at the moment is our forwards aren't setting the world on fire hitting the back of the net regularly.

no where in that did i mention fighting a reargaurd game, if that's how you read it, then i suggest you try harder, instead of offering an opinion on what you misinterpret, just my opinion you understand.

and yes i do mean petty windups, ;-)

  • i know this has been covered, but i'm gutted after the w/e, in the first half we were all over em like a cheap suit, then the wino saf puts all his forwards on the pitch and what happens? the poorest defending i've seen since the beginning of the season from us! yep they stepped it up but our defenders were being pulled all over.

didn't expect to get much out of this game in the first place, but in the first half i thought it might happen, imo, a very iffy penalty decision changed everything.

was i surprised they were awarded a penalty? not in the least, id've been more surprised if they weren't! but then again the mancs and bindippers do get lucky like that at home don't they.........;-)

did i say that? are you a mind reader? i think no is the answer to both those questions don't you.

you ask an opinion, then try your hand at petty little windups, maybe that's how it works up t'north, refresh my memory a little here, what is your team? go on indulge me......................;-)

  • i think the point here is, that although sulkatov demanded a move, and it took 2 seasons for him to sulk and stamp his little bulgarian feet through, he finally got his wish, at a very much inflated price.

defenders in the epl had got used to how he played and were shutting him out to a certain degree so he wasn't as effective as he was in the first season anyway, much the same as torres for the bindippers.

he got his wish, and to the majority of us, it gives us a great deal of satisfaction knowing that we were right in our assessment of him, and that he is now becoming the lazy sulk at manure we all know him to be.

keane, although i've stated i'm not happy at how he went about things, still gave 100% til he left, and that says something, to me anyway.

we all know that footballers are fickle animals, we've had this loyalty debate several times, it doesn't matter a stuff to the club or players what the fans think, we pay our hard earned money to follow a team club we love, end of, we are the only true loyal people in football, rant over! ;-)

you're forgetting one important fact here, and that is that our forwards aren't exactly banging em in with regularity! that is my main concern, the defence looks solid as does the midfield, but they will be severely tested.

go for it? mmmmm can see why you're not a manager alan ;-)

imo the main consideration is if we turn up and play to our best, then i think we have a good chance, personally i'd settle for a point, somehow can't see it ;-)
