  • "Sacked Parkinson left disappointed
Phil Parkinson spoke of his disappointment…"
    No change there then.
If we get a 'name' ( betting suspended on Wise?)then we'll just have to see how it goes so long as all remember there are probably some fine managers at low levels who would welcome the chance to make a good impression.

  • Far too many people are according Alan Pardew the title of 'Manager'. True that may be his status but a manager he is NOT; a coach maybe. After almost every match he states that he was either 'disappointed, puzzled' or the like. On occasion his players 'have a lot to learn' - at Championship level supposedly vying for promotion - I DON'T THINK SO.
From the tenor of other contributors it would appear that the club doesn't have sufficient funds (or wit) to terminate whatever contract the board has agreed to; the man obviously lacks the integrity to fall on his sword and so unless the players actually begin working consistently (and not spasmodically) AS A TEAM then then only way has got to be down.

IF we're lucky and survive this season ("It was a disappointing result for us." A Pardew - said after every loss), and BOY will it take luck, we'll be playing you in the Championship lookslike.

No Sir - we are most unlikely to 'be back soon'.
Sadly we do need a Manager, in the fullest sense of the word, and not just a fairly competent coach. There appears to be such a widespread lack of motivation (as well as some basic skills) among those rejoicing as 1st team squad members that special measures, which do not appear to be in Mr Pardew's repertoire, are required. "I'm disappointed" and a variety of other epithets made following games we REALLY should have won just do not 'cut the mustard'.

  • Earlier in the year Markymark86000 headed an article "Curbs your teams are so boring"
To paraphrase I would add "Ian D your team borders on inept" and to add insult to injury I note the press comments "Ian Dowie applauds the Red Devils".
How about using our wingers (Rommerdahl for 3 minutes) instead of lending them to other teams? Who was D Bent seeking to pass those won headers to?? Why is Young left to carry the ball all the way (and then not have the pace to get back)? Why were so many of our front-runners (or were they designated mid-field) so pedestrian at this stage of the season at this level?
On the 2 league performances so far it is difficult to see where any goals, in open play, might come from.
If the players on display ARE so jaded (or past their 'sell-by date') then how about persevering with our youngsters (Gislasen et al). Then, at least, we might have a reason (hopefully short term) for not matching up to the task in hand.
