Strange how circumstances and views etc. change over the years eh. Years back Pools were robbed! at the Vic by you guys!!---Downing cracked one in off the bar against you at the Riverside, much to your disgust and ridicule---and now you're after him to feed Andy Carroll.

I expect England to qualify for the next stages Roy, but thats all....leaving Rio out is a mistake, we have no dominant centre half to compare. The decision to leave Ferdinand out is political rather than for football terms IMO...to accomadate John Terry.

    Your not wrong so far.

Whilst I know nobody expects anything from England, hence getting out the group would be an over achievment on expectations, I am not happy with the way forwards under Hodgson.

England despite winning nowt for decades are considered, or supposed to be one of the worlds top footballing nations. To back that statement up, Holland have won very little in decades and they are still a top top nation.........................But we go out so So defensively that it is dire to watch.

My theory. Instead of being like Italy and Spain and to all extents just having the top foreign players in their league complimenting their home grown talent, we have some awesome foreign players.............but masses of ordinary foreign players that keep our own players away from the chance to progress thus negatively affecting our national team.

These players are only there because they are cheaper than our own similair talent. But for every 20 average players, now and again 1 or 2 grow into top players but with our league saturated with foreign players they rarely get the chance.

OK people say the cream like Rooney, Gerrard and Co rise to the top........................But sometimes you don't know the cream as they don't always shine as a teenager like Rooney.

    Anyway

just a thought on why we have turned into a team who fear everone ad play accordingly

  • Hope it doesnt come back to haunt you...wide open net! Bah!

no you cant, sorry big sam, he is not big, he is fat. good luck in the play offs. watch out for blackpool.

  • Ok, so thanks to Boro we actually still have a chance of auto promotion.......it IS a long shot but then we've bought it on ourselves.....I remember a point in the season having 3 games in hand and only 3 or so points a drift from the top place, how things could have been different.... Anyway, lets hope that we can actually do what we need to do when the time comes.......I'm not bothered how they do it, just get 3 points........ I'm concerned how we'll fair once we return to the Prem, we aint exactly solid at home and keep gifting goals.....but you never know, we may be able to stay mid table in Green can up his game.......... anyway, lets see what happens tomorrow!......3 pts in the bag or a definate run into the play offs?.!?

  • How on earth did we loose to Ipswich, come on, if we keep playing a 451 formation, your never gonna score more than 1 goal agame,

  • First Anders Frisk and now this. When are Chelsea's disgraceful fans going to stop? Have their club hierarchy no shame? Why haven't these ultras been eliminated/banned from your league yet? Full article below:

Anton Ferdinand is believed to have been sent a bullet in the post ahead of Saturday's FA Cup tie between QPR and Chelsea.

The incident happened less than 24 hours before the already highly charged fixture which kicks-off at midday on Saturday.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “We are investigating an allegation of malicious communication received today at QPR football club. Officers from Hammersmith and Fulhamare investigating."

The package is believed to have contained a shotgun cartridge and a death threat.

The new development came on the same day Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas insisted QPR's Ferdinand should shake hands withJohn Terry before the FA Cup clash at Loftus Road.

Villas-Boas said he hoped and expected Ferdinand not to snub Terry, despite allegations the Rangers defender was the victim of a racist slur from the England captain during October's Premier League game between the sides.

The players square off for the first time since then, and just four days before the court case begins in which Terry stands accused of abusing Ferdinand.

Ferdinand is reportedly agonising over whether to shake Terry's hand, amid fears it could be viewed as hypocritical. Asked if it was important he did so, Villas-Boas said: "Extremely important, extremely important."

He added: "This game is based on good values more than anything else. These players should continue to promote these good values."

Villas-Boas reiterated he would not consider leaving out Terry and said he had not felt the need to check on his frame of mind this week.

"No, not at all," he said. "I have to count on the player, and the player is fit and available for the game."

He also revealed he had no plans to issue special instructions to his players reminding them to stay calm amid what is likely to be a hostile atmosphere.

Admitting there were "extra responsibilities" to consider, he added: "I won't speak to the players specifically about that before the game, not at all."
