  3. - Lorenzo, Stoner, De Puniet , Pedrosa, Spies, Dovizioso...that is the top six for tomorrow.

  4. 60' AND THERE WE GO! A THIRD POLE OF THE SEASON FOR LORENZO! A CLASS PERFORMANCE WITH A TIME OF 1.42.046. THE CHAMPIONSHIP LEADER LOOKS IN FINE FETTLE.

  5. 58' Lorenzo will get another lap in here.

  6. 57' STONER GOES FIRST BUT LORENZO WRESTLES IT BACK! That is a stunning effort. He was on pole after a 1.42.410, but Lorenzo records a 1.42.292 to claim pole.

  7. 55' Pedrosa is down in ninth at the moment with a time of 1.43.213

  8. 53' Heading for the final seven minutes now. Lorenzo, De Puniet, Dovizioso, Bautista, Edwards and Spies lead times.

  9. 51' Lorenzo posts a 1.42.427 to move ahead of De Puniet.

  10. 50' The world championship leader is on a hat-trick of pole positions after surging ahead of De Puniet's best time.

  11. 48' Lorenzo is trying to pile it on here in the final 10 minutes.

  12. 46' De Puniet has not qualified lower than six this season.

  13. 44' Pedrosa could be found discussing the importance of weight distribution this morning and it is working well for him after he records 1.43.213 to move up to third.

  14. 42' De Puniet, Dovizioso, Lorenzo and Edwards in the top four spots with Pedrosa in fifth place.

  15. 40' Hayden and Casey Stoner struggling to make a big impression in the Ducatis. Stoner seventh and Hayden eleventh.

  16. 38' Colin Edwards is up to fourth after a lap of 1.43.369 heading for the final 20 minutes of this qualification.

  17. 36' Alvaro Bautista in his Suzuki is up to fifth place with a time of 1.43.440.

  18. 34' Not much movement since De Puniet pieced together his couple of searing laps.

  19. 32' De Puniet is trying to go faster, but Marco Melandri is a fair bit down the qualifying times on 1.44.783 from his afternoon so far which leaves him in 14th place.

  20. 30' This three-mile track is searing and these riders are setting a hot pace.

  21. 28' Nicky Hayden comes up with a 1.43.938 in his Ducati to occupy ninth place in the standings.

  22. 26' Another fine lap by De Puniet. He clocks 1.42.600. No struggling with his rear tyres out there.

  23. 25' Dovizioso continues in second spot with his 1.43.184. Surely there will be charge from Lorenzon and Pedrosa before this session is over.

  24. 23' De Puniet has just uncorked a lap of 1.42.737. That is the fastest of the weekend and that consolidates his position at the head of the field.

  25. 21' It was a year ago that Lorenzo lost on the last turn here to Valentino Rossi. Lorenzo has been complained of his rear doing a bit of sliding despite being the fastest man around this circuit.

  26. 20' With 40 minutes to go, we have De Puniet, Dovizioso, Lorenzo, Predrosa, Spies and Casey Stoner occupying the top six positions.

  27. 18' Could be a great weekend for Spanish sport with a 1-2 here and a win for their football team in the World Cup quarter-final match with Paraguay.

  28. 17' Lorenzo is now third fastest in qualification with a time of 1.43.294.

  29. 15' We are in the midst of six Moto GPs over eight weekends, which is a punishing schedule. A lot can happen with so much activity in such a short space of time.

  30. 12' The fastest time of the weekend so far is Jorge Lorenzo's 1.42.748s. Pedrosa could only manage a 1.43.388, which leaves him in fourth place. Overall Rider Table

  31. 10' Here comes Dani Pedrosa hitting 205 mph. Let us see what he can do. Looking fairly relaxed out there.

  32. 8' Randy de Puniet is fastest out there so far with a time of 1.43.013. Andrea Dovizioso has posted a 1.43.184, which is the second fastest, but that will surely get faster as the hour progresses.

  33. 6' Jorge Lorenzo leads the standings on 140 points from six rounds of the season with Dani Pedrosa second on 93 points. Good time for the Spaniards to impress.

  34. 4' A very hot day out there. Hitting the 40 mark out on track.

  35. 3' You can watch this LIVE on Eurosport 2 and, of course, the player. Watch MotoGP on the player..

  36. 2' Jorge Lorenzo the man to catch this weekend it seems, but let us see what the others can do.

  37. 0' Just getting underway with qualifying in Barcelona.
