  2. - Top 10: Pedrosa, Stoner, Doviziosol; Lorenzo, Crutchlow, Spies; Rossi, Bautista, Barbera' Abraham. A disappointed Hayden and De Puniet finish out the fourth row.

  3. 0' Lorenzo shakes his head. He's in fourth. Pedrosa is pole for tomorrow as the rain begins to fall.

  4. 0' Stoner comes into the pits. He won't be pressing for pole. Crutchlow takes fifth as the flag goes up...

  5. 1' Stoner begins his last lap. Bautista is off his bike but holds eighth at present.

  6. 2' Pedrosa takes pole with two minutes remaining! 1'33"638 as Rossi finally salvages something with seventh.

  7. 3' He's front row! With Lorenzo as a marker he hits 1'34"178!

  8. 4' Crutchlow on a personal best, in eighth at present...

  9. 5' Stoner with 1'33"941 for pole! Barbera into fourth!

  10. 6' Dovizioso fends off Stoner with 1'33"976 - The Honda rider .850 behind as we enter crunch time.

  22. 20' The American leads the Spaniard by .318.

  23. 21' Hayden poles. 1'36"426. Stoner's time has been knocked into sixth. Bautista, Crutchlow, Dovizioso and Barbera stepping it up.

  24. 22' Bautista, looking strong all weekend, improves again with 1.37"616, .173 behind pole.

  25. 23' But 1'37"782 from Abraham and Hayden put both riders behind Stoner.

  26. 24' Bautista into second on his 15th lap. Hayden and Hernandez move Abraham down to fifth.

  27. 25' Stoner is only getting better! 1'37"443 puts him over two full seconds ahead of Abraham.

  28. 26' Abraham .282 behind, with almost two seconds on Hayden.

  29. 27' Stoner roars ahead - Abraham second, Hayden goes third. 1'39"563 from Stoner.

  30. 28' Pasini has the slicks on and is fifth with a time of 1'43"540.

  32. 31' Bradl has headed back inside with his bike.

  33. 32' Now Rossi move within .208 of Bradl. Standings looking a little upside down but still half hour plus change remaining.

  34. 34' Bradl's off his bike! The Honda throttle looks damaged.

  35. 35' Bradl moves into pole with 1'42"384. Could be the tipping point.

  36. 36' Hayden poles on his tenth lap! 1'43"656 puts him a fifth of a second ahead of Dovizioso as Stoner pits. Rossi back out, as are Bradl Silva and Barbera.

  37. 37' Dovizioso clocks 1'44"488 for second, Hayden .179 behind in third. The American on the harder Bridgestone tyres.

  38. 38' Dovizioso joins Hayden and Stoner on track. Hayden 10th, the Italian seventh.

  39. 40' Stoner goes from 19th to pole! Softer compounds take the Aussie to the lead on 1'44"793'

  40. 41' Stoner is back out, best time 1'49"992 so far.

  41. 42' Hayden is out with a harder wet front. Track continuing to dry. Looks like a few other competitors will follow suit on hard.

  42. 44' Crutchlow's best improved to 1'45"156.

  43. 45' Only nine riders out at the moment. Casey Stoner looks moments away from a return, may be coming out on slicks.

  44. 47' Ben Spies 10th, Rossi half a second behind Crutchlow in third.

  45. 48' Crutchlow leads Pedrosa by .007. Damp patches remain but looking otherwise dry now.

  46. 50' Crutchlow and Rossi step it up, going one-two (1'45"835 from the Brit).

  47. 51' Casey Stoner ninth fastest at present, with a fatest time of 1'49"992

  48. 52' Session beginning to dry out as Lorenzo goes to 1'48"029, while compatriot Bautista moves ahead with 1'47"536.

  49. 53' 1'48"144 for the Yamaha rider with Crutchlow, Dovizioso and Pedrosa also inside the 1'50 mark.

  50. 54' Lorenzo with a time of 1'50"804 to top the times after two laps and he is looking set to better that once again...

  51. 55' This is a Honda circuit, so one would expect them to have an easier time out there - though their confidence levels are not what they used to be.

  52. 57' Jorge Lorenzo with a long left-hander.

  53. 58' All eyes are on Casey Stoner after his announcement this week - this will be his final season in the sport. Will he retire with the number one plate?
