Disappointed Carlisle boss Greg Abbott admitted his side's 4-0 hammering at the hands of Brentford was an embarrassment.

Loan signing Saido Berahino tore the Cumbrians apart with a brace on his debut as Harlee Dean and Sam Saunders added first-half strikes to ensure the Bees cruised to a comfortable win over their play-off rivals.

Carlisle managed just one effort on goal in the 90 minutes and Abbott said: "We fell well short of the standards that we have set this season so to that extent I am extremely disappointed."

Abbot called on his promotion-chasing side to come in for training and show they are prepared to put the Griffin Park nightmare behind them.

He added: "We wanted people to see what we can do on television, but from the moment they scored their first goal and then added to it - with poor goals from our perspective - the writing was on the wall.

"We have conceded some cheap goals and that's not good enough, but I know my players will come in on Wednesday and give me a reaction because that's the way they are."

Brentford boss Uwe Rosler was delighted with his side's clean sheet and their response to the late 2-1 defeat at Colchester in their last game, but he insisted the two-goal debutant could not have bagged his brace without the hard work of his team-mates.

"I know what Saido is capable of because he does it in training. It's different in a game, but he couldn't have done it without the rest of the lads," he said.

"They were brilliant finishes. He uses his body well and his movement is excellent. He will only get better with us as the rest of the boys get to know how he likes to play."

Rosler, who insists a top 10 finish is his only target, added: "Three points was what we wanted, but now I want to see more consistency. We have done well on the television again, but I want to see us take this level of performance into all our games."
