FIS race director Helmuth Schmalzl completed an inspection of the Lake Louise Ski Area and was satisfied with the amount of snow at the facility in Alberta, Canada.
“We are very happy that we managed to pull together all of our resources and manpower to the extent that FIS has given us the green light to host World Cup races at Lake Louise,” said John Cassels, co-chairman of Winterstart Events Ltd.
The announcement means the men's downhill and super-G races will take place on the November 24 and 25 and the women's a week later as scheduled.
There had been initial concern that, despite significant snowfall in the area, warm temperatures would affect the races.
