Amir Sadollah Out, Nah-Shon Burrell In Against Stephen Thompson at UFC 160

The injury bug is back with a vengeance, taking Amir Sadollah out of his scheduled fight against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at UFC 160.

UFC officials on Wednesday announced that Sadollah was out due to injury, but that they had already lined up Strikeforce vet Nah-Shon Burrell to take his place.

The fight represents a quick turnaround for Burrell who made his Octagon debut recently at UFC 157: Rousey vs. Carmouche. He currently sports a 9-2 overall record, including the unanimous decision victory over Yuri Villefort.

Thompson (6-1), however, has been on the sidelines since April of 2012. Matt Brown defeated him by unanimous decision at UFC 145, and Thompson has been itching ever since to get back on track.

Thompson had been scheduled to fight Besam Yousef at UFC 154, but had to pull out of the bout due to a knee injury.

Thompson and Burrell are part of the UFC 160 supporting cast. UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez puts his belt on the line in a rematch with Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the main event on May 25 in Las Vegas.
