Ashes: Cook challenges England to reignite 2005 cricketing fervour

London, July 8 (ANI): England skipper Alastair Cook has called upon his young team to take inspiration from the 2005 Ashes win and bring back the same fervour when they meet their arch rivals Australia in the first Test at Cardiff. The two teams will be meeting after 18 months, when England were thrashed 5-0 in the series down under. Cook said that this was perhaps the biggest series that a player wanted to play, the Guardian reported. He added that with Wimbledon going on, it's a great summer of sport and they want to be part of that. Australia skipper Michael Clarke, the only member of the current Australia squad who played in the 2005 series, said that he would love to see similar kind of cricket with England fans behind their team. He also insisted that the intensity would be same in Australia and fans would be glued to their television sets. (ANI)
