TIKI GELANA (Ethiopia) - Age 25. Marathon best - 2:18:58 Rotterdam, 2012.

The Ethiopian record holder upstaged her better-known Kenyan rivals at the London Olympics to win the title by five seconds from Priscah Jeptoo. This is her first time competing in the London Marathon.

EDNA KIPLAGAT (Kenya) - Age 33. Marathon best - 2:19:50, London 2012.

Kiplagat led Kenya to a sweep of the medals at the 2011 world championships. One of the favourites for the Olympic title she could only finish 20th but likes running the London Marathon and has finished third and second respectively in her two previous appearances.

PRISCAH JEPTOO (Kenya) - Age 28. Marathon best 2:20:14, London 2012.

The world and Olympic silver medallist finished third when making her London Marathon debut last year. In seven marathons she has won three, been second three times and third once.

FLORENCE KIPLAGAT (Kenya) - Age 26. Marathon best - 2:19:44, Berlin 2011.

Beat world record holder Paula Radcliffe and Germany's Irina Mikitenko when winning the Berlin Marathon in 2011. She was fourth in London last year.
