Australia A 'in command' after skitlling India A for 135

Chennai, July 29 (ANI): Australia A produced a disciplined bowling performance on Wednesday as they bundled out India A for a paltry 135 in the first innings and then made 43-0 at stumps on the opening day of the second unofficial Test in Chennai. Karun Nair was the top scorer for the hosts, with 50. Meanwhile, India's star batsman Virat Kohli failed to turnaround his batting woes after he was trapped lbw by Ashton Agar for a cheap 16. Cheteshwar Pujara, who opened the innings, was also dismissed for 11 after being bowled out by Marcus Stoinis. Rest of the batsmen crumbled against their opponents' accurate line and length bowling after opting to bat first. Fast bowler Gurinder Sandhu was the pick of the bowlers, with returning figures of 3-35. Also, Andrew Fakete, Steve O' Keefe and Agar shared six wickets between themselves to put the tourists in a commanding position. In reply, Cameron Bancroft and captain Usman Khawaja remained unbeaten on their respective scores of 24 and 13 and will aim to construct a good first-innings lead on Thursday. (ANI)
