Australian Rules-Adelaide Crows coach Walsh killed - police

MELBOURNE, July 3 (Reuters) - The coach of the Adelaide Crows, one of Australia's top flight Australian Rules football teams, has been killed and his son arrested, police said on Friday. South Australian police said Phil Walsh, 55, had been called to the coach's Adelaide home at 2 a.m. local time (4:30 GMT) on Friday and found he and his wife had suffered knife wounds. Two police patrols attended with ambulance crews and they rendered first aid and tried to resuscitate Walsh but he died shortly after. "His wife also suffered a wound ... (a) non-life threatening injury," a police spokesman told reporters in Adelaide. The spokesman said there had been an argument with Walsh's son, 26. "As a result of that both Mr. Walsh and his wife received the wounds and the wounds ultimately caused Mr. Walsh's death." (Reporting by Ian Ransom; Editing by Greg Stutchbury)
