Barca beat Galatasaray to stay perfect
Barcelona maintained their 100 per cent record in the EuroLeague with a narrow 70-66 win at Galatasaray, while Real Madrid also beat Turkish opposition.
The Spanish side are top of Group D with 10 points from five matches, two points ahead of Montepaschi Siena, who beat bottom club Asseco Prokom Gdynia 84-73. The Polish side are yet to register a point.
Also in the group Unics Kazan beat Union Olimpija 81-51, with the Kazakh side staying third and the Slovenes fifth, behind Galatasaray.
Barca’s bitter Spanish rivals Real Madrid also beat Turkish opposition, although it was an easier 104-84 win at home to Efes Pilsen.
Real still lie second in Group C, with Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv top after a 69-59 win over Belgium’s Spirou Basket Charleroi.
Partizan Mobtel leapfrogged Olimpia Milano into third after a good 69-65 win in Italy.
There was one Group B match on Thursday as Ghp Bamberg picked up a surprise 79-76 win at home to Panathinaikos.
