Rotherham chairman Tony Stewart is revelling in the quality of applicants the club's vacant managerial position is attracting.

The Millers are looking for a new manager after sacking Andy Scott a fortnight ago and after initially looking for a quick appointment, it will now be another two weeks until a new man is announced.

Part of the delay is down to a late surge of applications, with Stewart boasting about the quality and pedigree of some of the interested parties.

"We have had Championship and Premier League managers who have applied for the job," he said.

"They have been really high calibre and on a different level to when we have previously advertised the post. We are going to take advantage of that.

"To be flattered with the options is excellent. It will delay the process but it is worth it on this occasion."
