Walker finished seventh with Gillian Cooke, who won the world title alongside Nicola Minichiello in 2009, in Lake Placid last year and has been consistent on the World Cup circuit so far this season.
Having ended last season ranked tenth in the series, with a best finish of sixth at the eighth and final round in Calgary, Walker is currently ninth with one round to go.
That will take place at the 2014 Olympic track in Sochi with Walker achieving two sixth-place finishes while a crash at round six in Altenberg saw her drop from third to 13th.
Walker is currently placed 11th after the first two runs in St Moritz but revealed prior to racing that she is on a damage-limitation mission with the test event in Sochi in mind.
"I'm carrying a knee injury that is definitely impeding our start. My sole aim now is to try and not damage it anymore and make sure I get to Sochi," said Walker.
"This track [St Moritz] is a bit hard to gauge as it gets faster the more people go down, completely the opposite to any other track.
"I'm so excited to get on the Sochi track. It will be the first time for the British team. Every race is an opportunity to show the world what you have.
"However, until I get to see and drive the track it's impossible to tell whether it's like any other.
"[This season] it's been up and down. We have had some solid results and I am taking our crash as a positive too. The downs are a few stray results and my injury."
