Bos leads in Turkey after first stage

Theo Bos leads the Tour of Turkey after a first stage which was marred by a huge crash shortly before the finish line.

Rabobank's Dutch rider took the bunch sprint at the end of the 135 kilometre stage, an eight-lap course around the streets of Alanya, ahead of second-placed Matt Goss and Daniele Colli, who came third.

Going into the final lap Lampre were aiming to set up Alessandro Petacchi for his first win of the season, but the final sprint saw them unable to take control.

As the finish line approached a big crash took out about half of the peloton, and Bos powered ahead of the remainder of the field to take the stage.

Stage Two of eight on Monday will see the riders travel 153km along the coast from Alanya to Antalya.
