Bailey upset London prospect Lewis Pettitt to claim the vacant Southern Area title in September last year, but has since suffered three consecutive losses, and the Ingle trained Wood was too sharp, inflicting a cut over Bailey's left eyebrow. The fight was stopped at 1.47, and Wood moves to 9-0.
Competing in front of his home fans for the first time in over three years, Jason '2 Smooth' Booth (37-11) cruised to a six round shutout over Glasgow journeyman Ryan McNicol (4-26-1) on referee Michael Alexander's card.
Booth, 35, chalked up his first victory since securing the Britsh and Commonwealth super bantam straps against Jamie Arthur in February 2011. Although this was a massive step down from recent opposition, which includes Scott Quigg and Kid Galahad, Booth's experience and ringcraft proved to be far too much for Scot McNicol.
Also on the card, local light middleweight Terry Maughan (7-4) outpointed Lincoln opponent Rick Boulter (1-37-3), but Bulwell's former British Cruiserweight champion Shane McPhilbin (8-7-1) could only manage a draw against the much less experienced James Oliphant (0-3-2) from Leeds.
