Brett Lee backs selectors' decision to withdraw 'injured' Clarke from India tour

Sydney, Oct 3 (ANI): Former Australian Test fast bowler Brett Lee has said that he believes the selectors were right in withdrawing captain Michael Clarke from Australia's one-day tour of India to make sure that he is fully fit for the Ashes series, which starts in Brisbane on November 21. The timing of the India trip has raised eyebrows given England will arrive here more than a week before Australia return from the subcontinent. According to News.com.au, Lee said that resting Clarke from the India tour may have been the best option given the numerous problems he had in the past over his hamstring and back, adding that looking at the amount of cricket coming up for Australia, it is better that Clarke was rested in order to get him nice and fit. Lee has also backed David Warner to make a return to Australia's Test team, adding that even though he has been dropped from Australia's last two ODI squads, the explosive batsman is looking better than ever.
