Brett Rogers vs. Eric Prindle Bellator 93 Heavyweigh Tilt Scrapped

The Bellator 93 heavyweight feature fight between Brett Rogers and Eric Prindle has been scrapped.

Bellator officials on Wednesday announced the bout’s cancellation, citing an undisclosed injury to Prindle.

Prindle (7-3 with 1 no contest) has had a rough go of it over the past year. He has only fought twice, losing to then-champion Cole Konrad and Thiago Santos. The fight with Rogers would have been an opportunity for Prindle to get back on course against a name opponent.

Rogers (12-5 with 1 no contest) is coming off of a loss to Alexander Volkov in the Season 7 heavyweight quarterfinals. Volkov went on to win the tournament and the vacant Bellator heavyweight championship.

The bout was initially part of the Bellator 93 main card to be televised on Spike TV. Other bouts on the main card include another heavyweight feature fight between Ryan Martine and Travis Wiuff, as well as the lightweight tournament final between Marcin Held and Dave Jensen, and a welterweight feature fight pitting UFC veteran Marcus Davis against Waachiim Spiritwolf.

Bellator 93 takes place on Thursday, March 21, at The Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine.
