Bendtner had travelled to Germany for 'final talks' over the transfer but Eintracht boss Heribert Bruchhagen has confirmed the deal is off as Bendtner is asking for too much money.

Bendtner spent last season on loan at Serie A champions Juventus but they opted not to make the deal permanent after he failed to score a goal.

Eintracht had hoped to add Bendtner to a squad that will play Bundesliga football next season.

Arsenal are believed to be willing to let Bendtner, who has also been linked with Malaga this summer, to go for around £2.5 million.
